Dragon riding

Well i started riding dragons and it sucks because the dragon just flies wherever he wants. Is there a way to control the dragon without fast traveling?

You can lock onto targets, but it's kinda lame tbh. Has some novelty value, and is great fun if you haven't done the imperial-stormcloaks questlines, or any others with big open battles. I think a lot of people are disappointed with it

I think it's a lot of fun, but I think one should be able to control the dragons flight the same way you control your characters walking direction... Having to fast travel somewhere the dragon could fly in 3 seconds gets old fast.

So far dragons have just circled around for me, except once and I haven't gotten around to trying it again.... I had a quest marker to return to Telvanni Tower and I was on the opposite side of the island when a dragon attacked. I shouted at it and took it as a mount and right when it took off and started circling I hit "A" to land. It flew all the way across the island and landed on the shore between the Telvanni Tower and that Dwarven Ruins on the coast there.

I know people said they can fast travel, though I wasn't even able to call up the menu when I was mounted. But I want to try setting different markers and see if it moves toward them.
