Favorite Oblivion Race

Nords are pretty awesome, they were my third favorite race in Oblivion. I'm actually thinking about putting aside my love of Argonian to roll a Nord in Skyrim because it fits the setting so well. Not sure yet though.

Do it like me: First play as an Argonian and then as a Nord in the second playthrough.

I will probably end up doing that. Argonians are just too great. I'll probably role an Argonian thief/assassin/ranger type, then a Nord warrior/berserker, and then an Orc mage/shaman type.

For some reason, I always end up playing as a ?-Elf thief. Could someone please explain to me what's the catch of those Argonians? I find it difficult to have any immersion, if character is Argonian or Khajiit.

You forgot poison resist.

Oh and Vimalamitra, how come? Do you play in Third Person a lot?

When I roam around and explore I tend to play in 3rd person, but not while fighting. Water breathing is definetly cool ability, but Argonians just don't seem to be nothing more than viviparous lizards (and don't they hibernate..?). Khajiits are supposed to be stealthy assassins mostly, but I see them only as furry kittens. I don't want to be a soft toy! They lack in essential bad ass-ness.

What do you guys think?

Lack essential bad ass-ness? You mean besides the fangs, the claws, the superior strength and agility, the stealthiness to kill a man before hes seen. Oh yeah, I guess your right lol.

When the oblivion gates opened all across Tamriel, the Argonians of Black Marsh all gathered up and viciously defended their homeland. “When the gates opened, Argonians poured into Oblivion with such fury and might, Dagon's Lieutenants had to close them." Now that's badass

And also, Khajiits

Totally agree, Agro, Cats and I'll add Orcs would destroy human races. I am biased though, I almost never play humans.

I'm pretty sure the important ones where 50 end and 40ish strength. Since Skyrim has not attributes, you should just play with whatever race looks best and has the racials you want.

Also, I think lions are pretty badass.

I saw a picture of a Khaj in Skyrim that looks sort of like a tiger, it was awesome. My very first Morrowind character was a Khaj thief. He holds a special place in my heart.

Dunmer because fire resistance is essential in the planes of oblivion where you get hit with a fireball every 20 seconds.

I love reptillian races, so I'm definitely going with Argonian. My second favorite would have to be Khajiit. I love beast races.

Okay, you got me conviced. Maybe I'll try out at some point to play with Khajiit. Stealth is always handy and when fighting with claws I don't have to worry about whether my weapons will break down or not. Argonian's ability to breath underwater however might be useless as there isn't so much space covered with lakes and sea.
