Hi all,
Love what youve done with the place. Great website, very informative, many interesting threads.
Im an American, currently live in Pennsylvania. Its colder than hell & I cant wait to move. Used to be in the Marines for 8 years. Got tired of people shooting at me when I had kids, so I got out, got screwed up by the VA, sued them & now I dont do much at all.
Like most of you, im hooked on this stupid, half-broken, time sink of an incredible video game masterpiece called Skyrim. Unlike most of you, I enjoy causing myself anguish so I play on ps3. Had 300+ hours into a toon. He had around a half dozen broken quests so I rerolled & im now around 150-ish with 2 broken miscellaneous quests. I figure I can live with that.
I look forward to having some intelligent conversations with you all. I've seen a few on here already & to be honest, thats what made me sign up. Thanks for having me & cheers.

That was a great intro. Thanks for sharing it with us. :)

Thanks so much for joining and I hope you have a great time here.

Wow, that's awesome. I have alot of respect for the USMC :D

What Renegader said, and Welcome! I hope you enjoy yourself here! :P

Semper. :)
Thanks very much for the warm welcome.

Glad to have you aboard and thanks for your service. I'm the grand daughter of an Army WWII vet who was part of the Normandy invasion (Utah Beach). Needless to say he's got a couple Purple Hearts. My husband's grandfather was a Marine (he's passed on now and that's the only reason I'm using the past tense here) and found himself island hopping in the Pacific theater. He got a couple of Purple Hearts too. Crazy times. Sorry you had problems with the VA but glad you got home safe.

I appreciate that, thanks very much. :)
My grandfather was 101st Airborne 506th PIR. He was a part of all those Airborne misdrops behind the beaches at Normandy. Hell, your grandfather & mine might have passed within a few feet of each other. He's passed on as well....in 2000 but Christ alive, did he have some stories. He ended up takin shrapnel in his back at the Bulge which knocked him outta the war.
I also had an uncle who was a part of the Island Hoppin Campaign. (also passed away a few years back) He took a round in the gut at Tarawa. Only met him once or twice tho.
Yep the VA's a pita but what can ya do. I'm glad theyre a bit more forgiving than they were in our grandparents' day tho. My grandfather told me he spent 2 years learnin how to walk again after that shrapnel got him & could barely keep himself upright at the time. He applied for disability from the VA & was denied. So he started his own business & made himself a small fortune running a printing company. He once told me, You have to be thankful that God gave us stupid people. Sometimes, as in my case, its their stupidity that forces us to achieve what we normally couldn't.
LOL
