How to get around this glitch? Can I??? (quest)

So I decided to return the Skeleton Key and am at the stage where I jump down a tunnel and put the key in the floor.

I talk to the goddess who berates me ( it seems)... And then she disappears but nothing happens after that. I read that she is supposed to offer me a perk but it seems to be glitched there.

I reloaded a few times but it never progresses. She goes away. once the girl came ( the head of the Thieves Guild) but every time I tried to speak to her it just says " This person is busy".

I am pretty sure I have some saves that will allow me to retrace my steps and get out of the cave BUT can I progress here?

Yes. The Nightingale Sentinel who first approached you before you proceeded into Pilgrim's Path is supposed to appear and talk to Karliah. The perk which you're referring to I think, is the Agent of Nightingale one? It doesn't appear until after Gallus talks to Karliah. I'd suggest waiitng a bit, that's what happened to me, but I dont know how long you've already waited hehe What does it say in your quest objectives?

When does Karliah show up, before or after Nocturnal speaks to you?

I followed the advice on the link. After Nocturnal spoke nothing happened. So I waited 24 hours then Karliah showed up. But she started to leave so I caught her before she exited and finished the quest.

So - after Nocturnal speaks and if nothing happens waiting 24 hours seems to unstick the glitch.
