Imperials or Stormcloaks, what one?

The Jarl made a promise he couldn't keep unless he was ready to wage a personal war with the Thalmor. You Stormcloak supporters all keep forgetting about them and the fact that they still desire to conquer all of Tamriel.

You've also reinforced that at best Ulfric is just a disgruntled guy with a bone to pick. He seems strikingly similar to the US Veteran who just a few days ago shot up a Sikh temple. At best maybe he's a John Rambo type. Sure he was wronged, but I'm not going to allow him to jeopardize all of Tamriel, Skyrim included, because of his personal grievances and traumas.

Again, it's not the right time to separate. If the Thalmor threat could first be eliminated and if the Stormcloaks were led by someone more reasonable like Brunwulf Free-Winter, then I would, without hesitation support Skyrim's independence.

I'd say that the right time has already passed. (looking at when the Medes first took control)

my response is, obviously, hell ya. my jarl did make a promise to me.

and, to all of skyrim. any imperial treaty is secondary to skyrim.

you didn't get past your first point. maybe you should revise.

You could be right. Of course without the Nords the Dominion would have walked all over Cyrodiil, and I'm willing to bet that compared to all out occupation, the White-Gold Concordat wouldn't look so bad.

well what might have happened does not matter. right now, i cannot wholly support one side or the other because both candidates have their bad qualities, as stated in a previous post.

you guys and your assumptions, lol. and, btw, on the wrong side of the assumption.

lets do it again: skyrim is a land of constant turmoil. it is reasonable to assume that those born in skyrim understand conflict.

add in all the nord-'ness' and i understand that people trying to overcome skyrim will not only lose, but, barely get there. the thalmor die easily.

my heart knows that the jarls, with a true and actual contamination, will unite.

there's my assumption.

to get it on the record, what are ulfric's top 10 'wrongs?"

and, putting argonians outside his walls doesn't count. in fact, that is a point for me.

Maybe you should reread my entire post and reconsider.

You know, there's something else that bothers me about the Stormcloaks, gravely in fact. They hero-worship Ulfric to a fault. It's more of a personality cult than anything else, similar to the National Socialist movement. Both of which were responses to unpopular surrender treaties I might add.

Let's face it, we'll see eye to eye any more than the Battle-Borns and Grey-Manes will. Under different circumstances I could easily support a break from the Empire, but under the conditions of the game I think it's just a tragedy waiting to happen.

the ones that make me think that no one should rule except the jarls in their own holds is that Elisif is easily swayed, this is a bit of a bad quality as it could cause unrest in the kingdom. Ulfric is a warrior, not a ruler.

What's to stop the dominion from getting military access through argionia and walking straight into skyrim?

You know if I was Ulfric stormcloak I be pretty disgruntled too for getting fluffed over not only by the empire that I once fought for, but also getting fluffed by a Jarl that knew that he couldn't keep his promise. Ulfric didn't even ask for gold, only free worship of Talos. Igmund knew that it was a violation of the White-Gold Concordat, yet did it anyways just so that he and the empire can retake back the reach from the natives. When the Thalmor found out that Talos was being worshiped in the reach who did Igmund blame? Not him but pointed his finger at Ulfric. He had him arrested.

You imperial supporters are so blinded by the facts. I just showed you proof that the empire and Igmund hired Ulfric to retake the reach, and still fail to realize that perhaps they were to blame?

Brunwulf Free-Winter calls Ulfric hateful names, yet I see him in the palace of kings eating free food. Ulfric must not be that much bad man to him... even know he talks plops about him behind his back. He also a chronic complainer. My goodness does he have anything positive to say? He needs to be on an antidepressant or get therapy or something.

that's a lie, but, you can roll it if it helps u.

this entire thing is plain and simple: skyrim vs others telling skyrim to go left.

Igmund(not the empire) lied to him. Simple as that. I don't see what this has to do with the empire since the agreement was made with igmund.

idiots side with torygg.
idiots think balgruuf is clean.

ulfric is a true champion.

conviction, courage and talos.

Igmund is part of the Imperial government so therefor he is part of the empire. Once Ulfric successfully capture the reach by driving the natives out essentially the empire retook the reach back.

The only thing the empire did wrong was not punish Igmund for making a agreement that violated the WGC.

I shall refrain for personal insults, I would ask that you do the same. We are debating a game based on a world that doesn't exist after all. In fact 90% of the reason I'm on this forum is simply because I'm bored at work.

What has Balgruuf done wrong? He's doing what he thinks is best for his people. He's not willing to let them be slaughtered just so Ulfric can have his personal little justice. Yeah the guy got a raw deal, but he makes all the wrong choices because of it. His rebellion is the best thing the Thalmor could have hoped for.
