Improving Deadric artifacts to legendary.

Is it possible? I have this cool mace called Voldrung and i want to make it legendary. I have 100 smithing everything but glass smithing unlocked, but i can still only increase it to flawless! Is there a way to increase my smithing beyond 100, console command or in game?

Thx,

Muncywolverine

Try using it for awhile then seeing if you can then get it to Legendary. I've found that if I make or improve a weapon it will only go to Flawless or Epic until I use it for a while then it will go to Legendary when I go to improve it.

How does that make sense?... I mean hell i'll try it, i like the hammer but...

IIRC some deadric artifacts don't correlate with any smithing perks, so it works solely off of you're smithing level, so what you need to do is get yourself some fortify smithing armour, and some fortify smithing mead and go to town on the thing.

Enchant alchemist gear, make enchantment potions using said gear, use potions to make better alchemist gear (repeat X5), hone the weapon. Fixed.

1) Alchemy and Enchanting to 100.
2) Alchemy and Enchanting perks to add bonuses to both Enchanted items and Alchemical potions.
3) Falmer Helmet x 2 (or more; I only needed 2, but by the time I started I was uber-alchemist-enchanter-fighty-Nordic-guy)
5) Create Fortify Enchanting potions - lots of them.
6) Enchant an outfit for Alchemy, including two headpieces (Falmer helm can be equipped with a large number of other headpieces, like circlets.)
6a) Repeat until you get to +37% Enchanting Potions. (or more; I couldn't get past 37% Enchanting, but it might be doable.)
7) Enchant another outfit for Alchemy; you should be able to get each piece to +29% Alchemy.
7a) Enchant an outfit for Smithing; you should be able to get each piece to +29% Smithing
8) Create a Fortify Smithing potion - you should be able to make a +157% Smithing potion.
8a) That is not a typo.
9) Put on Smithing outfit, which should give you +117% Smithing.
9a) Drink +157% Smithing potion.
10) Make Legendary Daedric Artifact.

If this doesn't let you upgrade it to Legendary, then you just can't do it. Go with just regular Daedric weapons. Seriously, I've got a Daedric dagger that does 100 base damage right now (and another 82 damage from Fire and Shock), and a hammer that can kill dragons in a hit or two, even when I forget to put my Smashy-Smashy stuff on.

Jesus flying beerbottles in a hippie van thats a lot of stuff. I CAN get it to legendary, i put on my smithing suit (Derp derp derp) and got it up to legendary, but i'll bet i can crank it up to 11 with that list. I can use my uber hammer after all!! :D

You don't need to get nearly that detailed to get to Legendary. I mean you can do all that to get the weapon as powerful as it can possibly be, but here is all that is needed for Legendary:

The first rank of Legendary requires an effective smithing skill of 168. The formula for effective smithing skill is:

(skill-13.29)*(1+perk)*(1+enchants)*(1+potion)+13.29

No smithing perk affects Volendrung as far as improving. Ignoring alchemy for a moment, we will figure out what you need for gear based on using a vendor bought +30% blacksmithing potion. X is the gear that you need:

((100-13.29)*(1+X)*1.3)+13.29 = 168 therefore, X = .3725. You need at least +38% in smithing gear, which should be pretty easy to obtain by checking vendors. You can wear up to 4 pieces of smithing gear (chest, hands, necklace, ring) and +15 to +20 pieces should show up on vendors occasionally.

If you can only find a +20% smithing potion on a vendor, you will need at least +49 in smithing gear to reach Legendary.

I know you said you got it there with smithing gear, but I thought this would be useful for you as it applies to all armor/weapons you want to improve.

Oh, and as you probably figured out, using something more has absolutely nothing to do with being able to smith. The player who mentioned that must have simply improved his smithing skill in the meantime, or used different smithing gear or a potion. Nothing besides what is in the formula above will improve gear.

i'd rather chop off a leg than go through all that potion/enchant/smith rubbish, do you have it set on easy also?
