Is it me or is Nightingale armor useless?

Pretty much.it helps to look at guides and such to plan out when to do certain quests to get maximum potential reward.

Any chance i can re obtain the armor? because that's the last time i'm going through the thieves guild questline again.

Nope, not that I know of anyways. Pretty sure you can only get it once

God damn it i usually go straight into a guild that suits the class after i leave the cave with hadvar and tell balgruuf about the dragon.

As do I, usually expand my character into the other guilds as I go in order to get more levels. But if you want the unique, class-suited armors then you are forced to leave them til later

The thieves guild is really the only one with leveled rewards, and it is most of them too. You probably also have weaker versions of Chillrend, the Nightingale Bow, and the Nightingale sword as well.

So what level would y'all suggest? I usually wait until after 40 (sometimes even 50) before I start the TG or DB quests (I do the Companion's first 'cause I like bein' a dawg!) and then move on to the Dragons and the War before I do them, Solstheim and DG.

You get the Nightingale Sword first (I think), which has it's best stats when you're level 46+ when you start(?) Hard Answers. So, if you start the TG quests at level 45 or just below, hopefully you'll be at 46 before you get that far into the questline.

The max for the bow comes at level 46, too, and the armour tops out at level 32. Level 46 is the magic number.

Thank you. Not much of a fan of the TG line anyhow so usually breeze through it and don't do any of the radiants, same with DB. Have a Khajit now so might give it a try. Don't want to waste my Dark Elf Mage on these lame questlines though.

What the hell do i do before level 46? i wanna get nightingale armor first then take on alduin and the major questlines as a pure nightingale.

It looks great, but the enchantments are so lackluser

I've always thought it a little sad that nearly all unique equipment can be outclassed by any generic weapons and armour you can create.

If it's a remotely new character, then take some bounties, hunt some dragons/word walls, give your character a hobby, etc..... Personally I like forcing my character to become a bounty hunter of sorts, or a random traveler before I go after any of the faction quests

Granted the outfit looks great but I usually complete the Thieves Guild quest line with certain characters and usually much later which means I usually have better enchanting ability by then anyway which makes it seem inferior compared to other outfits and my own selected boosts. I like the power you can get from Nocturnal though which can be a great improvement to the suit as well as your enchanted stuff.

Get your favorite follower, work on your core skills. You are really supposed to already be a Badass before you become a Nightingale.

Beware though, the highest level Nightingale sword can't be tempered. It was patched for PC but i don't know about on console

Apart from the boots the rest of the armor i don't see useful, gloves are not that good and the helmet has only a little illusion boost. The chest piece stats itself i think can just be replaced by 50 points carrying of the thieves guild armor.

I only wear it because it looks badass but i replace some items with krosis, shrouded gloves and thieves guild master armor. And i hate thieves, i roleplay my assassin to regret thievery and to go against the thieves guild itself.

But back to the main point, what do you think of the nightingale armor?
The Armours useless when your a vampire that frost resistance is useless

Muffled Boots, 50% Frost Resist, +50 Fortify Stamina, +25% One-Handed Damage and 17% Illusion cost reduction.

How are these enchantments terrible?

Especially if you are also a Nord. I am impervious to frost. I stand in front of a frost dragon and yell.."BRING IT!"
Fire dragon, no problem, I have fire resist boots and necklace to change into.
