Largashbur glitch?!

Hey all, I am relatively new to this forum, I made an account several months back and haven't been back lol.

Now for my problem, and I have Googled this and haven't found anyone with this problem yet. I travel to Largashbur to do the quest The Cursed Tribe for the Volundrung hammer, but I cannot start the quest. That is because after I kill the Giant, not only is Atub NOWHERE to be found, the entire stronghold attacks me despite being Blood-Kin to the Orcs. This is the only stronghold where the Orcs attack me. Convenient it's at a stronghold where there is a quest huh?

I have literally reloaded my game over 10 times and tried different things and nothing seems to be working. This is the last Daedric artifact I need for the Oblivion Walker trophy (I'm on PS3) and the only thing that will potentially keep me from getting platinum on my first playthrough. Oh and I should add that I am level 50 so that isn't an issue.

Has anyone experienced this and if so is there a fix for it? Thanks to any and all help.

I've had this problem once, I don't know if it was the cause of it but I charged in to fight the giant melee style. I assume I hit one of the orcs while fighting because as soon as the giant died they attacked me. I ran away waited a bit and tried to return but they were still hostile. I ended up loading a save from before I fought the giant this time I hung back and fired arrows at it making sure no Orcs were on the way after which I was able to start the quest as usual. I don't know if that helps as my Atub was still there, though I do believe she can die as I seem to recall killing her on my first playthrough, and being all when the "Failed-Cursed Tribe" thing popped up.

Hey thanks for the reply. I don't know if I am hitting them or not. The Giant's life bar is the only thing that's popping up, and when I get there Atub is not in the watch tower. I'll try what you said and see if she shows up after I kill the Giant.

I just thought about this, is Atub only available at certain parts of the day in the watch tower? But even if she wasn't there I would be able to find her in the strong hold...wouldn't I? God this is so frustrating!

Hey, so I know this is a pretty old feed but I'm having the exact same problem. Tried different times of day, even waited and giant attacked again but atub is legit not in the game. Did you find a way to fix it? I'm level 40+ now and reeeeally don't want to start again because I've got my dhovakin where I want her. Plus I built like 2 houses and I cannot commit any more time to that.

I know I'm late to this post but I occurred the same problem and turned to the internet. I approached the giant fight and I first attacked as I thought I was helping and the orcs in turn attacked me and I killed one of them and the mission was failed. I reloaded a previous save and tried again this time not attacking and the orcs still turned to try and kill me so I retried one more time and the giant came to me so I killed him and I saw some orc were hostile but Atub was in her tower and she was not hostile to me. I waited an hour or two and then approached Atub. She then told me that her chief was really sick and they he ordered them to not leave the stronghold (reason why they are hostile to anything remotely close to their home) and she asked me to bring her troll fat and 1 daedrea heart. As I did she insisted I attend the ritual and she let me in. No orc attacked me after that
