Lost Followers!!!

Firstly, this is my first post so apologies if this is not in the right place or this has already been answered. (I did look through 6 or 7 pages for a similar topic but couldn't be arsed to look through the other 458 pages).

Anyway, my problem. I have lost what I THINK is my follower.

I DID have Vorstag as a follower. I gave him loads of equipment. We were getting on really well, when after a while I realised he wasn't following me. I returned to find him at his default location. When I spoke to him, he said "aaah I see you already have company"

"YES YOU, you stupid f*** " I thought.

I didn't think I had another follower. The only thing I can think of was when I did a quest for some woman in a Temple or something. Whilst completing the quest she set and speaking to her, some bloke in the back piped up and said

" oooh the so and so tower(I think).. I've never been there and would like to go. Can I follow you?"

Foolishly I said yes.

Could this have been the point that I lost Vorstag?

To make matters worse... my new follower (youngish, dark haired guy with no weapons or magic), has gotten lost.

I've retraced my steps with him, quick travelled all over the place, loaded and reloaded ... everything.

I've looked through my quests to see if I could work out which one I picked him up at! No joy :O(

So, does anyone know how I can find who this guy is and more importantly, WHERE he is, in order for me to kill or help him so I can get Vorstag back!

Well usually if you have a follower, if they get lost, you can just fast travel anywhere or go inside a cave/residence and they will be there with you. And, maybe you didn't reload back far enough? If there's not a lot of progress made, go back to when you know for sure you had either of them. If you find the dude who is currently following you, that you don't want, either kill him or tell him you think you should part ways, then talk to the guy you do want and have him follow you again.

Thanks for the response but I've been in and out of buildings and have done a considerable amount of quests since I lost him. I don't want to go back to an old save.

Someone suggested it was the quest where you get the tree from the sap. (He was keen to see the tree). I went to Danica but he was not there :O(

Finding him is the hard part!

Still no luck :O(

Well usually Donica is at the huge tree in Whiterun, which I'm sure you know, but hang around and maybe wait. She'll be sitting at the bench.
