Master difficulty Assasin Argonian?

So I think I'm gonna play this guy like full on legit RPG style. Having alot of trouble on Master though, wondering if other people are having luck with this style of character. I'm trying not to get to deep into the magic but its looking like I at least might need to start using the Alteration.
Any thoughts are appreciated.

Hi, I am actually playing an Argonian Assassin at the moment (lvl 20 atm). I am playing on normal difficulty though.

My stats atm

Stealth - 70ish
Light Armor - 45ish
Alchemy - 40ish
Archery - 40ish
1H - 37ish

Since my sneak levels up so easiliy (from sneaking, backstab etc) it means the other skills are left behind and hard to level them up naturally. If I was to do again I would focus more on getting archery/light armor/1h up earlier by grinding.

Strengths of build
Can 1 hit almost anything if you can get in a sneak attack (30 x damage with Dagger on backstab from Sneak perk + Dark Brotherhood Shrouded Gloves)
Sneaking is very effective for dungeons or avoid confrontations in the open, especially at night
Sneak attack with bows also effective
Posions are awesome...paralyze poison ftw

Weaknesses
Weak in open fights with tough enemies (trolls etc). I duel wield 2 swords in open combat and only wear leather/shroud armor (for RP reasons, cannot play an assassin in elven/glass/dragon armor sry). I am hoping this changes when I get my 1H skill up. Also I am trying to get the Ranger perk in archery asap as then I can move faster (i.e backstep and shoot) hopefully giving me an edge against tough enemies.

Animals such as sabre cats/cave bears/trolls etc are annoying as they are very hard to backstap (as they do not stand bloody still) and can be a problem.

I do not dabble in magic unfortunatly as I have to concentrate on raising my core skills first. I think those above take around 40 - 50 perks points so alteration or illusion magik might be worth a look after.

I have to say though assassination missions rock and generally going around dungeons sneaking and taking out all the enemies silently is awesome :)

Anyways hopes this helps somewhat. I do not claim this is a great way of playing, but it is one I enjoy (even with it's short comings) and I guess that is the most important thing :)

I know this hasn't been active, but are Argonians good as Assassins? I currently have a Khajiit but am thinking of making an Argonian .....

Argonians make excellent Assassins. There's actually a branch of Argonian Assassins within the Dark Brotherhood called Shadowscales.

If you have the coin, find a trainer to teach you archery or one-handed, between levels. This will help keep your offensive combat skills up. To a degree anyway.

Sweet, at first I went Khajiit because they had Sneak, Archery, One Handed, AND even Light Armor. Than I looked at the Argonian, sweet looks but it didn't have any offensive skills.......still don't know whether to make my argonian an assassin or a thief

Argonians and Khajiits makes good Assassins and Thieves. Gotta love the Argonians resistance to disease and being able to breathe underwater.

Depends on who you ask. My thief never fought but was a master of stealth, pping, and lockpicking. And steal. Lots of stealing. My assassin would just kill someone but never steal anything.

Thieves usually refrain from killing, a thief makes more coin pick pocketing and breaking into houses with good loot. Basically, well, being a thief. They sell their stolen goods to a 'fence', since regular shop keepers won't purchase stolen items.

Assassins are paid to kill. That simple.

If you mean by the difference I would say it all goes by what skills your character is proficient in. I personally prefer Assassin with a bit of thieving mixed it.

But when you get into a pickle, your going to wish you leveled your 1h.

I always level up my one-handed when I play as an Assassin. However, my one Thief/Assassin I made, he strictly used two-handed weapons. He was an odd duck.

A two-handed thief? Reminds me of that orc I killed in the Dark Brotherhood in Oblivion............I LIKE TO GET UP IN PEOPLES FACES.

Good point, since my Khajiit is already level 17, I might actually not make the Argonian, I spent so much time on this guy but I would be happier if it was an Argonian, anyway thanks guys!

Well if you want a bit of a challenge I say try a non violent/pacifist thief. So much fun to be had just using sneak, shadows, and bow/arrow to distract npcs.

Unsure. Even without a mod, arrows distract npcs good enough in my opinion. Plus they do pretty good setting off traps.
