My Horse! It's Possessed!

I finally got round to buying a horse, a rough looking mare from Whiterun stables. One thousand creds it cost me ffs..
Any how, so I thought I'd take it for a spin and off we went, to Riften. Part way there I stopped off at a castle and jumped off to punish a couple of bandits for living, my blasted horse kept wading in to the battle!! What the hell?! I struck it myself a few times as it smashed me out of the way to reach the enemy.
Later we were ambushed by a bear, this time the horse legged it away and I had to calm the bear so I could retrieve my wayward nag.
I've done a few missions in Riften but cannot find some Black-Briar leader (terrible with names, me) so I thought i'd go outside the gates and reenter immediately; oh no, blood dragon attack! Suddenly my horse bolts from the Riften stables, where I parked it, and kicks the living daylights out of the dragon! This poor lizard is down on the ground and dead within 3-4 minutes!
I shall name her, Crazy Bastard!

Yeah, horses<dragons (i think thats right..the arrow points to the greater one, right?)

during the brotherhood quest, i got a near-invincible horse and on the wayy to falkreath an elder dragon swooped down. the horse got it's attention while i took an hour to kill the dragon

Dark brotherhood horse is awesome. I do find it kind of annoying though because it occasionally runs away and disappears, usually end up fast traveling to the closest spot to get it back.

Does the Brotherhood house - Shadowmare - stay with you for the whole game? I ask as towards the end of the Brotherhood quest it seems to disappear . I like that horse! red glowing eyes and a fighter's spirit !

I find that my horses kept dying, mostly from falling or from the horse charging into battle. Stopped buying them and just run around now, horses were too aggressive and too weak all at once. Of course the DB horse resolves some of this but I don't believe she is essential. (FYI: When I've "lost" Shadowmere I found her located at one of the city stables.)

Seems Shadowmare is a fighter. Always jumping in the brawl. I was fighting a dragon and the dragon showed no interest in me and just kept freezing the horse. I got about 80 of its health and the dragon left.

My first horse was such a badass... I was so proud of her. Then the flying spirit somethings got her at College of Winterhold. :(

An interesting thing, when I was attacking Stormcloack camps, sometimes there were horses left that could've been taken without stealing. After you got off them, they wandered off in random directions but sometimes I've run in them while on the road, or found them in stables. There was even one, that kept appearing beside my character after fast traveling. Horses are awesome.

no its actually the exact opposite lol. the open end of the ">" points towards the greater thing. think of the arrow like an alligator, it wants to eat the greater thing, so the open end of the gators "mouth" points to the greater thing

that's what i was taught in elementary, but my dumb algerbro teacher flipped the script on me

I was walking through the woods and came upon a stray horse. It was just standing there, so I walked over to it and I could take it, not steal it. Then I realized there was a dead body on the ground (not my doing). This horse was staying with its master even thoough he was dead. So, I took the horse, got in a fight soon after, and the horse had gone back to be with its dead master. I resolved that it should stay there.
