New Roleplay Ideas

Gorzash

Battle-Jaded Orc
This is just a thread for brainstorming any new roleplaying ideas for the Roleplaying Discussion. I've been meaning to begin my own roleplay for a little while. I've thought a little about whom the main antagonists may be, and what time period the roleplay will take place.

I'd imagine a few years after the civil war has come to a resolution with the Imperials as the not-so-triumphant victors. The Aldmeri Dominion is unknowingly poised to strike out at the ravaged province of Skyrim, now, where a completely unexpected and unprovoked assault on Solitude is successful, and begins the Second Great War.

It even sounds stupendously farfetched to me, haha. Any suggestions for how I could hammer this basis into a more reasonable, rational form? Maybe a different idea altogether?

Maybe make it to where the Almeri Dominion captures Solitude first, then sends out soldiers to every single city and town,out-matching,out-witting,and out-numbering the guards.Have a story, and make it good. Also, have an interesting name, something like maybe 'The Second Aldmeri War' or something like that.Something about the new war that is about to happen,or is happening.

in my opinion you might want to rethink the premise a bit. skyrim would be the last province the dominion would prioritize capturing. notice how few thalmor there are? they cant stand the place, and would have a very hard time fighting nords in their homeland. i can see it being a slight possibility with an imperial victory in the civil war, like you have it. i still dont think they would choose skyrim as a point of attack to begin a war, thats just poor tactics. once they got a foothold in solitude, then what? theyd have to cross a tundra to get to the next real populated area being cyrodiil. solitude is just about as far from alinor as possible as well. lauching an assault there would mean any further reinforcements would have to sail quite some distance to land until theyre able to possibly take high rock. hammerfell is most likely out since thats already failed once before.

point being i think this would work better if the dominion had already taken cyrodiil and was marching on skyrim from the south. im afraid that would make you have to change your idea though, if the legion being in skyrim was planned to be a large part of your story. in this scenario they would most certainly be called back to the imperial province when the dominion struck.

regardless im sure i will give whatever you come up with a read. im not the type to get personally involved so you never see me there, but i do enjoy the stories you guys come up with down in the RP forum.
