PC Bug on main questline: Elder Knowledge

What's up guys! (or gals!) I'm stuck! Big surprise...Im' playing on PC and I have finished the Septimus Signus and Winterhold quests. I have the Elder Scroll in my inventory and can access it. It blinds me each time I use it. Just like it's supposed to, however in Mzark's Tower where you pick it up the game still thinks it's sitting inside that big gem even though its not. So I can't move on with the story. I've tried using it in front of Paarthunuux at the throat of the world but he doesn't acknowledge that I have it. Quest journal never registered mission complete for picking it up.

Has anyone had this problem with this quest or other quests? Know solutions?

Hi and welcome to the forum! For future reference, you will get better, quicker responses to questions like that in the Help Section of the site. But I'll try to help Try fast travelling away from the Throat of the World and going back there and trying to talk to Paarthunax about it again... see if that works

Thanks for the tip but I found the console command that completes the quest and just put that in. It's

setstage MQ205 100

I had everything I needed except the system's recognition that it was complete. So I forced it. Thanks!

Haha see I figured there was a console command, but I'm a PS3 user so I had no idea what it could be! Glad you figured it out
