Hey, im new and havn't played skyrims yet but am planning on getting it soon. a few questions i have first though. Does Skyrim need an internet connection to play it or just to install it? Can "your" character be male or female?

Thanks!:)

You don't mention what platform you'll be playing Skyrim on. PC's and Laptop's handle Skyrim much differently than the XBox and PS3.

As far as Internet connection, not necessarily, at least until you do the updates, unless of course you're buying the Legendary Skyrim that has all of the DLC's and updates.

Okay, you'll be looking in the help Forums for codes and stuff to type in because of the many glitches and bug's. but, you'll also be able to introduce mods to tweak things around, and many on these Help Forums can help with the good mods. Also, your best bet for help when you post questions, make sure it's known you're on a PC. You also might want to make sure your PC is up to speed as far a capabilities to handle Skyrim.

Also, many use Google to search on the how's and where's for the many quests, several of the sites also have the codes you may need to by-pass or workaround certain problems (UESP is a good one. Elder Scrolls wikia is another good source).

Regardless of your platform, an internet connection isn't completely necessary. Only if you want Updates and DLC, as JClarke1953 said. And yes, you can choose your character's gender. Among many other customizable traits.

Yeh, I'd forgotten, like Obesio said, you can choose the gender and race of your char, even how it looks. There's also a face-changer in the Thieves Guild that will allow you to make more changes if you wish to how your char looks (at 1k Septums a pop).

If you're getting the Legendary Edition, I'm not sure if there are updates that you might need that we're put out after that. Others on these Forums will know.

thanks guys. I think my pc should be able to handle it, it's a netbook but can play Tomb Raider Underworld and sims2 and they're pretty high spec.
