Sometimes the game pulls a real fast one . I was starting the Thalmor Embassy quest and just given my weapons and armor to Malborn. I realized that I overdid it a bit when I found myself having to get to Delphine wearing only a breech cloth . Luckily, no one seemed to pay any attention, not even the guards. So, I am starting to relax when ---- a dragon lands right in front of me. So, here I am, in my underwear, with no weapons, trying to deal with a dragon. A couple of punches were not as effective as I hoped and my sole offensive spell was Flame. My solution is not the stuff of which heroic sagas are made. I hightailed it back to Solitude, getting my butt singed a couple of times, and into the inn. When I finally came out there were a few dead citizens that I felt a little guilty about, but no dragon.

What is your 'screwed by Skyrim' experience?
 
Kinda happens it's that same quest. I gave Malborn my useless stuff, instead of armor/weapons/potions. So I had a hunting bow and 14 iron arrows, with a few offensive spells.
 
Every time I roll a dark elf I feel a little screwed by the "starting ability" of an extra spell . . . that every single person finds three minutes into the introduction.
 
Skyrim screwed me when I finally got all of the crimson nirnroot in Blackreach that I needed, but then a friend of mine started a new guy and it erased the auto save where I had finally did this. At the time I did not realize that there were only 3 auto saves. I really should blame my friend, but its easier just to blame skyrim.
 
First one I can think of was in a very early playthrough, It was during the Wolf Queen Awakend quest where you fight all the draugr and that whole shock damage. By the time I got to that area I had like a few healing potions left. I don't think I bothered to restock before doing the quest and I was stuck in there. I couldn't do anything. I ended up using the console to cheat my way out of the room. But ever since that day I have almost always stocked up on potions.

I also think this was around the time I discovered how useful alchemy is. Who knew a bit of wheat and blisterwart could be so valuable... and those pesky farmers and shop owners don't realize it. :D
 
stealing in anise's cabin without detection at early player level and getting soundly defeated by hired thugs.
 
When I accidently press the wrong button and pick up ALL the stuff out of my chest, and have to spend at least 5 minutes trying to find a recent save so that I dont have to put it all back in. I turned off autosave, so it was a challenge... Whenever that happens I kind of just sit there with my head in my hands for a while before plucking up the courage to look back at the screen.

I have done this more than I like to admit... E vs. R, and their roles change??? Sigh... Now I'm just VERY careful when looking through my chests.

I've done it so many times, its embarrassing. My finger has hovered over the button a few times, and i've had to actually use all my brain power telling myself to take my hand away from the button, and just think about what i'm doing. Its terrible.Its Like trying to convince someone not to jump off a high bridge.
 
Playing 50+ hours and realizing you have two wasted perks! Well, better start all over again.....

I still do this, however it never occured to me to go back to the last auto save point. So i have to carefully go through my stuff and then put it all back without putting something i may need into the chest.

most of the time I just suck it up, and get on with my life and just go through the process of shoving everything back into it. I facepalm every time I do it.

Yeah, sometimes i shout at Lydia when i do it. It isn't her fault but dammit woman you watched me do it! Stop me next time. Poor Lydia, long suffering wife to "Dale of Belfast" my main character. But i did apologise by giving her my newly acquired Steel plated armour... it got tore off some dude and immediatly presented to her :D

I have learnt to do this now after the 5 millionth time that I did it. It took me a while to realize I should probably be doing that, but I eventually caught onto it.

She is there to help you out, why can't she stop you from pressing a button at the last minute! Dang it, Lydia. >.<

Only auto saves I never turn off are when entering a new area, and fast travel. Because if the game crashes you don't want to redo a plops load of work. Plus it is nice when you mess up or die to only need to redo a single area or have to start from your last dungeon/city exit. Everything else is a waste.

But Skyrim has always screwed me over on my main, a Khajiit Assassin with a very recent, but high level, Conjuration addition (not a proper Nightblade since I don't use Illusion), I am by far best off with a sneak attack and usually screwed in open combat. So I'll be sneak attacking Falmer when suddenly, one of them bumps into their own noise trap and alert ALL of them and next thing I know the room is full of blind cave-elves and I'm fighting for my life.
