If you ever let a human NPC close to you, friendly or otherwise, then you have to go to your house and self-isolate for 14 in-game days!
Halt all active quests in your journal that require you to talk to someone.
You can still get close to your spouse/housecarl/steward or anyone else living with you before the start of the outbreak, and being near animals is ok as well.
