Feel free to comment or post a fresh character idea of your own. This game still has me so jacked up!!!

Hello, I'm pretty new to the forums but have been addicted to Skyrim for almost a year now. Wow! Got both DLC's and can't wait for what's next. Hoping to whoop the Thalmor in it. Anyway, about a month ago my hard drive crashed and I lost about 4 mid level characters. So I've been playing a Paladin type for the last month, and last night decided to start a pure mage. I've tried in Oblivion and playing pure mage in Morrowind was a death calling, but I think it's possible to conquer Skyrim like this. So I'll give a little back strory:

Alaster - a Nord who left Skyrim to get away from the persecution of others. It was just too limiting being obsessed with the arcane and taking the ridicule from most of those hard headed racists. He joined a group of traveling priests dedicated to figuring out the mysteries of the universe. A quick study in all schools of magic he has a lust for the unknown. If it be a dungeon or a magical artifact he must learn as much as possible. On one such quest before returning to Skyrim his troupe thought magic destroyed. They had found a staff of power only to touch it and lose all magical ability. While some held the faith, others simply gave up. Slowly basic spells have started to return, but frustration was mounting. Alaster decided to go back to his roots, and the College in Winterhold to help him regain his power.

Through his travels and learning he has come to understand how the Imperial rule is being controlled by the Thalmor. While it is acceptable to share Skyrim his feelings are linked to his belief in Talos and preventing the Thalmor rule. While not a bad type he also believes the magical artifacts held by the Daedric gods can not fall into the wrong hands. As a dedicated priest he will follow those beliefs to any end. Alaster will be obsessed with all magical artifacts and as usual with magic types gaining knowledge and power. I'm thinking for factions Mage College, Bards College, Stormcloaks, and Daedric quests.

Not sure between Werewolf and Vampire yet. Mages usually like to keep a clear mind and be in control so it's a tough call. Can't wait!!!

Thanks if you read the novel. Ha!

Seems like you got most of it figured out man, especially RP your character like that could be fun, don't see how you will have much controversy with the "not allowing it to fall into the wrong hands" thing...outside of that, I would assume you will be using destro magic, alot of ppl criticize and say that a Mage can't hold thier own early game, but this info is absolutely false...mages are easily the most overpowered character to make in the early and with the right perks late game mages are indomitable, it seems like your very strict on your RP so il keep skill leveling and grinding suggestions excluded save one, I would suggest your first two perks being destro and destro dual casting...outside of that you seem to have your mold set so good luck man! Have fun! (if you wouldn't mind take a look at my "new build suggestions" topic and let me know what you think, would be appreciated.)
