Private The Dovahal Comes! [TDC!]

J'Ghasta jabbed his "javelin" into the ground. "Maybe we should go after that thing, don't want it coming after us later." He noticed Dar'Ava checking the bodies, "You know them half pint?"
He paused, looked around, then to where the dragon fled, "If something can scare a dragon, it's got to be something we don't want to see either." At that he heard a twig snap, he grabbed the javelin, spun around and threw it, it landed with a resounding thud in the ground. It turned up only a deer.

Dar'Aava turns just as the javelin hits the ground, as stares up at his fellow khajit"a little jumpy are we?You must use your khajit senses a,bit more. The consistency of the deers steps tell Dar'Aava it has four leg.and the depth is far to heavy to be that of your smaller four legged creatures such as skeever,or wolf. Yet to heavy to be that of larger beasts such as bear,or sabercat. This tells Dar'Aava it is deer." He turns back down to the final body "If you react so rashly over a simple broken twig you only alert the true enemy to your position.you can not survive on your good looks alone brother." He says sarcastically.

"Cheeky little one are we? You shouldnt't be one to lecture ME on survival, I spent the first 15 years of my life in the jungle's of Elswyr half pint." He set out to the edge of the wreckage, "I'm going after that dragon, feel free to follow."

Dar'Aava smirks, and chuckles at the remark. Before he can counter act the remark his smirk dies and his heart sinks the lowest its been in years as he notices the ring finger on the final bodies left hand is missing. he stares frozen for a moment before letting out a soft sigh and sits down next to the body starring at it in silence, not knowing how to react to seeing his closest friend laying dead on the cold, frozen ground.

"I'm glad to know I have a pair of survivalists with me. Listen though, we're going to have to approach this thing cautiously and hope it doesn't light us aflame or freeze us solid. Once we're within earshot, I'll try to speak with it. I studied for a long while at Winterhold and learned a good deal of dragon language in that time. Perhaps it even speaks Common. Whatever this dragon is afraid of, we'll need to be prepared for."
He notices the one called Half-pint sitting next to a corpse with a sad look on his face.
"Is everything all right?"

Dar'Aava remains quite for a moment as if he didn't hear Dunhe. Dar'Aava stands looking over the site one last time trying to make out in his head what could have possibly happened. As Dar'Aava looks back to the ground he kneels down examining the dirt carefully for a minute before reaching down grabbing a hand full of the burnt soil, working it around in his hand "Even the soil did not survive. This is unlike anything Dar'Aava has seen before...And Dar'Aava has seen much." Dar'Aava drops the dirt back to the ground as he stands up "you are a mage yes?" He says as he looks over his shoulder to Dunhe.

"Yes. I've learned quite a bit of magic traveling to certain individuals for learning across Tamriel. I was even a part of the Winterhold College, but I became too well-learned to be a student, yet I had no talent for teaching. Why? Is there something you need magic related."

"No." Dar'Aava crosses his arms, and cshakes his head. "But this appears to be of magical nature. But Dar'Aava has seen no mage that can do this....what do you make of it?"

"Heh, no mage alive certainly. But no dragon as well. That's why we need to see what that dragon knows. If he's afraid of something, then by the Eight we should be afraid of it as well. Luckily he's buried himself in that cave, so he most likely won't be able to use his magic upon us. What do you say, you two? Ready to speak with a dragon?"

"No use standing here in the cold, I say we go" J'Ghasta said, "Plus if it does attack I could sell it scales, get my money back, since Angvar's dead over there," he thought to himself with a smile.

"Good man. All right, when we approach, you must stay calm and let me do the talking. There's really no telling what may happen. Large one, I need you to be ready to run at a moment's notice. Half-pint, I needn't remind you to hide behind a rock if worse comes to wear. Hopefully it isn't too angry about being disabled." Dunhe braced himself and started heading towards the cave where the dragon had dove into.

Dar'Aava stands quietly for a moment. "Dar'Aava is not one to rush blindly into hostile territory. Especially ones with dragons" He growls quietly to himself "But if it will lead Dar'Aava to the killer, he will tear that dragon two pices with his own to claws!" Dar'Aava takes his cloak off and lays it over his fallen brother. "May the divines grant you the peace in death you never had in life brother." Dar'Aava stands following Dunhe. Suddenly he turns back down to gaze for the final time. Dar'Aava puts his mask back on, turning back around and seting out to the cave.

J'Ghasta followed the other two, he wasn't incredibly fond of caves, to cramped for his style if things went sour. With a final glance at the wreckage, he noticed a strange smell, it smelt old, decayed among the wreckage, strange considering the freshness of the death. He kept it to himself though, wanting to move on.

Dunhe looked down into the cavern and then quietly walked in. The sound of the dragon's breathing could be heard just ahead, ragged and deep. Dunhe cast a detect spell and soon could see the form of the dragon, cowering and practically burying its face in the ground. If he could have, he would have swallowed.
"Dov? Krosis, aal- Whoa!"
Flames came forward, but they were weak and Dunhe easily kept them at bay with a ward.
"Do not bother trying to speak in our language. It's form is far superior to you joor. Speak in your own tongue, little man."
"I am sorry. For that and your wings. Please, tell us what has gotten you so...scared?"
"Scared?"
"Uh, faas."
"Faas? You want to know what it is I fear. Fine then. I shall tell you. Have you ever heard of Dovahal?"
"Dovahal? Uh, dragon... dragon..."
"Destroyer of dragons, mey! The one who can destroy all!"

Dar'Aava scuffs "destroyer eh? tell Dar'Aava where to find this Dovhal." Dar'Aava takes a few steps toward the dragon. "Tell me! and let him see the true face of fear, for his slaughter of Da'Rash!"
Dar'Aava shouts Pain and anger filling his voice.

"Mey kaaz! Do you think you could even step near the Dovahal! Only two in this world can possibly hope to harm him, and both are battling in Sovrngarde! Those outside, do you know how he killed them? He stepped over them! I want you to think of what dov is to a rabbit; that is what this being is to you joor. We barely stopped him last time, this time there will be no stopping him!"
"Wait," Dunhe said. "Why are you so afraid of death by this thing?"
"It is no normal death. The dovakiin and Alduin consume us, make us a part of them. The Dovahal takes. He is a moving chamber of torment. The flames that make up his body will burn us for eons beyond eternity should he destroy us. He doesn't destroy you immediatly. He takes you and destroys you for all of eternity. The ones he has taken, they suffer even now in the flames of his belly, making him only stronger. Should he even step towards a man, they will perish."

"Dar'Aava is not afraid of perishing in the flame! Dar'Aava has spent his whole life in the shadow of death and is not afraid to face it bow in hand, and courage in heart!" Dar'Aava stares back at Dunhe and J'Ghasta for a moment thinking of a scheme to try and loosen the dragons tongue. He turns back removing his mask. "We seek the life of the Dovahal. tell us all you know of this creature and Dar'Aava promises his death will be yours... And even if we fail, it is but three mortals you no longer have to worry about slaughtering. What is there to lose dragon?"

"Ha! Mey kaaz! Hm, fine then. I'll tell you how you can extend your already short lives. There are some items you can acquire that may prove useful against the god-monster. There is the four Cloaks of Frost, the Bow of Grand Shivers, and a sword so cold that even bron cannot hold for how cold its enchantment has made it. The cloaks would normally freeze a joor solid, however, worn close enough to the Dovahal, they may stop you from burning away like your friend. Da'rash, was it?"

"You have a Sharp tongue scaled one. Dar'Aava bets it would make a good soup. you best keep it behind those foul teeth less you care to let Dar'Aava find out." Dar'Aava Turns around and starts walking back toward the mouth of the cave.

"You want my tongue, kaaz? Here's some dragon's tongue! YOL!"
"Look out!"
Dunhe blocked off the fire again, but this time a little made it through and scorched his face.
"Damn! I suggest we do not anger the large fire-breathing creature. Hold on, is something... Ah, my head's on fire!"
Dunhe rapidly started trying to slap the fire off from his hood, but it wasn't doing him any good.
"Argh! Please, help me my khajiit friends! Gah, I do not want to burn!"
"Hehe, so that's why I could not see it," the dragon said venomously as Dunhe continued his struggle against the one flame.
