PC Werewolf or Vampire?

Which one do you like to be and why? I haven't gotten this far in the game yet but I am kind of excited to try each one out. But before I do I would like to know what everyone else thinks about them. Unless you can switch between the two? Then it's not such a big deal.

I went for being a Werewolf in Skyrim. I accepted it reluctantly due to my Companions allegiance. Loved it when I went on a mini rampage in Whiterun and later turned that savagery against the silverhands. I play a smart stealth character so I find being a werewolf a nice contrast with it being savage, brutish and primal by nature.

Both are fun, and both have their ups and downs. Both my characters have both (yes, you can do that). I like werewolf better, but the transformation time is a huge downside. Vampire Lord is definitely stronger in endgame, especially when comparing full perk trees. If you are determined to pick one, I would say vampire for pure rogue stealth or warrior builds, and werewolf for mages/stealth archer type builds.

Oh ya, as long as you don't do the werewolf cure quest, you can simply have serana or her dad turn you into a vampire lord, then aela will turn you back into a wolf whenever. i did the glitch to have both of them follow me, so if I wasn't a hybrid I guess that would be a superconvenient way to switch. you can do this as much as you want as long as you don't do the cure quest.

Well, being a werewolf is fairly casual. A part-time monster, if you will. If you behave yourself, watch where you transform and suppress your primal instincts, you'll get alone swimmingly with the people of Skyrim. No one will ever be the wiser. The only penalty is you no longer get the rested bonus when you sleep. That's not a huge deal.

Vampirisim is a full time job! You're always a vampire, even when you're not in Vampire Lord form. Sunlight will always affect you, you will always need to feed, you will always be weak to fire, you will always be outed if you get to close to NPCs like The Vigilants of Stendarr.

For this reason I chose Vampirisim. I find it more immersive; more of a total experience. Even after they took away some of its teeth (So to speak!) with Dawnguard by removing hostility towards a stage 4 vampire. I rarely, if ever, use the Vampire Lord form. Though I did max its perks for the sake of doing it. I just enjoy the little things that being a vampire brings to the game, both the strengths and weaknesses.

I haven't played DG yet so I don't know about Vampire Lord, but regular vampire is to restricted. You need to feed before you go to towns, avoid combat activities in the day, and the powers and bonuses you get aren't as good as they were in Oblivion, which really steals from their usefulness in comparison. Being a vampire in Skyrim felt like a drawback more than an asset. Being a werewolf is more useful as it provides an awesome slaughter-fest mode that helps when you want to power through small caves or as a faster means of travel. The 100% resist disease also is nice. So with vanilla Skyrim I say werewolf.

The VL can be just as brutal as a WW, I own everything with my poison talons, and can restore health by biting people. And the VL has an advantage of having a Plan B, if it feels overwhelmed it can start hovering, summon some gargoyles to distract, drain life until it has full health, then get right back into the fight. It also instantly wins if the fight is near a cliff, Vampiric Grip can launch enemies off of them. If fighting a powerful boss, it can cast corpse curse and maul it to death, and if it tries to get back up, it can cast corpse curse again. The WW can't even begin to compete.

I maxed out my werewolf, then switched to vampire. Haven't leveled up my skill tree very high, but from the videos and things I've seen, it seems like the Vampire skills are way cooler.
