What do you think would improve skyrim?

I think it would be great if the 3rd person view was just a little bit farther away. I'd like to see my whole character.

if your on xbox or ps3, click and hold the right analog stick. and move the left one down or up. it will zoom in and out in your 3rd person view. you can zoom out pretty far.

The ability to go into a Palace in a city and pay off your bounty with the Steward rather than having to fight you way through guards. The upside to this is that there are no guards present to take your stolen items.

When I look down in first person veiw, I want to be able to see my feet and the rest of myself. That would be much more realistic. I feel like a floating head and arms holding a weapon.

A little off- topic, but some of the requests here have been (imo) competently addressed by the mod community: player created campsites, horse whistle, player owned store, penalties for not resting, new gear, etc.

I just wanted to mention it in case their were some PC players looking for these options, but have not tried any of the available mods. Personally, the immersion mods ( eat/ sleep is required, cold weather brings penalties) have improved the game for me a GREAT deal. The amount and quality of work put in by the mod community is amazing!

Not everybody plays Skyrim on the PC. I believe this thread is more of what could have been added into the game, before it was released, for it to be an even greater game than it already is.

The ability to become a Jarl would be kinda neat. Or have you actually like, do things as Thane. Like convincing the Jarl to let Khajiit into your city and giving them a legit shop. Or fixing up the Grey Quarter. Or putting some locks on that crypt in Solitude. "Oh is that necromancer woman trying to come back to power? More locks on the crypt!"

Also, somebody mentioned capes already and I'd like to second that opinion.

One thing that bugs me is the save files....being all jumbled up, it would have been a lot better and neater to have a separate folder for each game. If you have two characters in there then your auto saves get overwritten, and as I mentioned it's just messy.

It would also be good to have more things to spend your cash on, although skyrim is a big improvement over Oblivion with regards to money. I really didn't like how ridiculously easy it was in Oblivion to rack up massive amounts of money & how relatively little there was to spend it on. After a certain level every random bandit you met had expensive armour so you could hack down a few bandits and come away with 10,000 worth of loot for little effort. Also how you could make massive amounts from potions. I took advantage of that right at the start to get the cheap river front house as quickly as possible....but after that I didn't sell potions & I would only loot gold etc from enemies, leaving their expensive equipment, I liked having to work for my money & skyrim makes you do that to a far greater extent than oblivion.

I was a little disappointed that the jobs were automated, that all you did was press a button and wait for the task to be completed. It would have been better for you to actually carry the task out manually in some way, also the money you earn for something like woodcutting seems disproportionate.

I haven't become a vampire as yet.....but I have seen in various places on the net that it works pretty much the same as in oblivion. One of my main wishes for Skyrim was the return of vampire clans like in Morrowind. Maybe 2 rival bloodline clans of vampires with varied special abilities depending on your bloodline, join one and the other clan is automatically your enemy, and each bloodline had a dedicated quest line for that clan. Evan having one vampire clan with a dedicated quest line would have been great. In that case there would also have been clanless vampires who were your enemies.

The holds are a little too orderly, it would have added more life to the game if there was a place that was seedy and dangerous. I know there is riften but it functions like any other hold really. If there were random brawls in the street, random events of people trying to pick your pocket, break into your house, whores propositioning people in the streets, bar room brawls without fatality's etc. That would have given the game a lively feel & a darker side.

That said Skyrim does the job of creating a living breathing world better than any other game I have ever played & it seems harsh to criticise anything this incredible, beautiful, progressive, and well made. But the above are my main points.

Oh and fighting pits, like the arena in oblivion but on a smaller scale. Cross country horse races where you could participate or just bet on the outcome, and maybe gambling in the taverns on card or dice games, those would have been really good and offered a bit of light relief away from the quests and dragon slaying.

A more realistic take on your actions from people and guards. If I'm harbinger of companions I shouldn't hear about being the new guy and fetching mead anymore. So essentially just a better programmed AI for interaction.

Better character homes. You should be able to add virtually whatever you want to a house. If I want to put an enchantment table, grindstone or whatever in Breezehome I should be able to. Considering we find enchantment tables out in the middle of the wilderness or in back of caves it's pretty dumb we can't put one in any home we have.

Finishing moves for ranged weapons and spells.

The ability to turn something like the DB sanctuary into a hideout and redecorate it if you destroy the DB.

I'd rather not be put in charge of every "guild" that I get involved in. Considering characters adventure mostly and don't order people around, we should simply get taken into the inner circle and another character should lead. They also should provide decent quarters that are private and somewhat houselike at all of these guild spots. You, Vex, Delvin and Brinjolf should have private rooms off the cistern. Same with the companions, although I know you get Kodlak's room, but it doesn't seem very private or personal. And with mages, instead of making you arch-mage, make you one of the top guys and let one of the others lead that are there all the time.

Most of all I'd like a lot more choices for armor and weapons and clothing.

As to what some others have seen, I'd vote NO on the morality system... I got enough of that in fable. It can't be done right, the programming is too simpleminded for it to really work. If guards can't even respond to whats actually going on a morality system won't work. Plus it's just not needed IMO, I got enough of that in fable. And god no about physical changes if it was in there... just because someone does something evil doesn't make them look like the devil, that's just stupid.

(oh and I'm on xbox, so I can't fix any of these things myself)

An actual Character Selection Screen with 5 or more slots, with the ability to load different save points in corispondance to that character.

More Pets like Meeko the Dog. like perhaps a wolf, or saber cat.

Fishing rods (we have water, fish, crabs, fishing shacks but no fishing?)

Create your own guild where you can invite earned followers to join (pretty much a building where you can have all of your followers found in one place, like after you beat the companions quest line you can invite the main three or the others to join your guild and they will stay in the guild house till you come to summon them)

Horse armor or war horses with mounted combat, and mounted combat NPC's

there's gotta be something they could of done about those console load screens. I would be willing to go with a 3 disc game rather than those damn load screens.

i think Skyrim needs crossbows, why a super inteligent race like dwemers dont made any guns or automatic bows ? Super giant robots and Metal assassins spiders fine, but Crossbows , wow wow stop right there, thats too much.

Dwemer Chief: We need some mechanism to defend our strongholds, lets use our technology to make Robots and lets build armors and fight intruders using swords and bows! Yes, sounds like a good plan to me.

Dwemer: yeeeaa sure...but why we can't build machine guns and shoot them all to death?

Dwemer Chief: BECAUSE IM THE BOSS.

Personally I think the giant Dwarf robots were to much and detered away from the theme of skyrim. thats me personally, but I see no problem with crossbows but guns.......thats a no from me, i think it would be cheap to shoot my enemys, all the gaurds coming at me with a sword and I whip out a dwemer rifle.....nahhh

But I would like to see crossbows

I would like the ability to become jarl of an upcoming hold... maybe the reach decides they need to turn karthwasten into a capital and they need a jarl. Do your heroic deeds and be nominated. There could be quests to go along with it to. such as your holds position in the cival war, with the abillity to atack other holds and defend your own.

Also I would love more factions. I just did the forsworn conspiracy quest and after that I really wanted to join up with them and take back the land!!! But instead I just murdered everyone in markarth.. kind of a worthless city now...

Actually having your wife get pregnant then give birth to a child that is yours and randomly generates facial and body features based on the both the parents appearances.... that would be better then the one on fable... my character was white and my baby was black.. i was like "DID SHE CHEAT ON ME!" hahaha... and have missions for your children too
