What is going to happen to us console players when Online comes out?

Well, if it does go online, I'll not be one to go along. I played online for some year's, CS 1.6 is one, then the Alien's vs Marine's, then a war game (flying jets, helicopters, driving vehicles). Then WoW. I did that for several year's, then it started getting to a point of people doing their own thing, even in dungeon's that literally required their co-operation in order to beat the place.

I then realized online gaming had changed, and people are going to do as they wish, even if they're on a team. It's like driving, one cannot control what other's will do or not do. Hollering, screaming, the finger or attempts to retaliate are fruitless. So, mainly because of how so many play online without regard to the team or side they're on, I won't do the online game anymore.

And as a side note, another is the language. I'm almost 60, and am no angel by any means. But the language that goes on, especially in console game's that aren't moderated, is awful. I've heard foul language from quite young player's, and more so from female's (I use that term, as there's no way to really determine age online), and word's that I either quit saying year's ago.

I'm 51 myself, and after almost 8 years of Warcraft, I've gotten quite familiar with the filthy mouths on MMO players...however, even Blizzard implemented reporting features to penalize the worst & most frequent offenders.

In general, most playerbase in these games suck, but if a game is really, really good enough, I'd still most likely give it a whirl. I spent many years working in the prison system, so foul language in and of itself won't necessarily hold me back at the start.

I dunno, the first time I did online with the 360 in CoH, I heard language that I'd stopped using or saying year's ago. What really put me off (yes, this will sound sexist), was that it came from what sounded like a young teenaged girl.

I forget where I saw this but I believe I read something about there being an expressed interest to maintain the MMO and AND single player series. The MMO takes place a few hundred years in the past and is bound in chains by lore. It is a dead end in many ways for expansion they could only release things for so long, eventually leading to the point where it rams the single player games up the ass as it follows the existing lore, which it will be forced to do for the main part, and die because at that point it is mimicking the single player games in events. Honestly I think they will continue to make both games until one or both sink. If the MMO goes console (which is possible as there are a few console MMOs on PS3 already) then it may do better than expected, but some people, such as myself, just don't enjoy PC gaming, despite the many advantages PC gamers waste time trying to rub in our face. I simply prefer console in most respects. But that is a discussion for else where, now then since Bethesda is not making ESO I see no change in the future of the single player series, it would cost both Bethesda and ZeniMax money to discontinue the TES. Multiplayer dominates shooters easily, but RPGs will never be dominated by multiplayer to the same degree, just too many people want a good story line based game.

I personally may or may not play the MMO since I honestly can't stand the lack of team work that takes place in those type of games. I normally take a group of my personal friends, who I trust and who I know, and we have been taking advantage of each others skills and play styles for a long time. We all have a system of organization within our group and we use each others tactics to the advantage of each other. When I play out side my circle of friends I find people are doing their own things and calling people whoo avoid a fight when they are half dead noobs because I haven't wasted all my time on one game.

Perhaps someone would start a poll on this? Bethesda says they read these Forums, so perhaps if they saw that going online might not be in everyone's best interest? By everyone I mean those who'd make money from online, and those of us who won't spend the money.

To me, as I stated earlier, because of how online gaming has changed, and there's pretty much no thought of "decorum" or consideration of other's, as it used to be, I'll be finding another game.

....Also, many people have been saying "ShangTsung" in particular about frame rate drops, and that really has nothing to do with the GPU, but the CPU....
This is incorrect. The CPU, GPU and System Memory all can affect frame rates. System Memory has the least effect but most of the games will take a big hit in frame rates if your video card is weak, and for Skyrim having a weak video card instead of a high end one can result in a difference of over 40 fps. When people post in the Help forum about low frame rates the vast majority of the time the problem is isolated down to a weak GPU.

Let me rephrase that, it really depends on what the persons system has. I find that the vast majority of people who complain about low frame rates in most game have weak CPU's that can bottleneck the GPU, or vice versa. Other times it is because the person has to little RAM (Random Access Memory; for those who do not know), or it could be because that Person does not have enough VRAM at their disposal. Other times it usually boils down to people just needing to update their drivers, or that their computer is running to hot. This in of itself is why most people say console gaming is superior to PC gaming because they do not have to worry about this; however, to me, I think it is usually worth the investment and head ache to work on computers myself as it is always a rewarding experience. Heck, I built by computer all by myself, and even did some of its programming, and even have had experience in programming so programs.

my pc was custom designed and cost a good 1400$, also has the best video card i could find installed, and this thing can't even play tes oblivion without studdering like its having a seizure..

I have a 5 year old HP Pavilion.

I recently added a $75 video card and $50 650 watt power supply. I can run Skyrim on all High settings, provided I reduce the grass settings, and I have no issues at all, even with over 70 mods.

hey, some guys are lucky, some aren't.. me, i can't even play postal 2 without graphic hiccups..

There's no way a $1,400 custom built desktop should have problems with running Oblivion unless it was custom built over a decade ago. If you built it you did something seriously wrong and if someone else did you got ripped off. If you run Dx Diag to get your hardware specs and post it we can see what's really under the hood.

got it about 2 years ago, its not old.. and i got geek squad homie.. lol when i need something serious looked at on my pc i don't risk further screwing it by trying to do it myself, i dig deep into my wallet and call the big dogs.. costly as hell but atleast i know it'll be done right. they have basically told me what i already know, that NO pc is going to play a game perfectly, even if it comes from bill gates himself! they weren't designed for it, they were designed for web browsing..

...and i got geek squad homie...
I hope you're not referring to the Geek Squad from Best Buy because those guys can be largely clueless about PCs. I watched the eyes of one of them at my local store glaze over when I began to talk about chip architecture of the various hardware components of an Asus gaming laptop they were selling. The fact that they would say something as lame as no PC playing a game perfectly to explain away your performance issues only seems to support the likelihood that they don't know what the hell they're talking about. A gaming PC is designed for gaming not web browsing. You got ripped off. If you want to post your stats from a Dx Diag report people can tell you just how badly you got ripped off.

From reading what this guy has said so far, I think I might know what is going on with his PC.

1) As you said, he got ripped off. ShangTsung, you know that you can order a computer off of the web with specification of what you want, right?

2) This is the most likely culprit. He has the wrong drivers installed. Maybe he has a 32bit driver versus the 64bit.

3) The PSU isn't giving enough power to his computer, or it is overheating.

then perhaps you should be working for them since u know so much more, sorry but i don't know how to respond to this.. no offense but i'm just explaining my situation, believe what you want, i personally have never once seen a pc play any current gen game flawlessly, not saying it isn't possible, i've just never seen it done before.

Can you please just post a DxDiag so that we can see what you have under the hood of your computer.

i have no clue what a "dxdiag" is m8.

A DxDiag is a diagnostic toll used to tell what type of equipment you have in your computer. It gives the basic information like what type of CPU, GPU, how much RAM, VRAM, extc you have in your computer. It will also tell us what your drivers are, and if they need to be updated.

To access DxDIAG:

Windows 7: Go to Start; type in DxDiag in the "search programs and files" bar at the very bottom and click on the link that pops up. Once you get the DxDiag to run, Copy it on a note pad and paste it to this forum. This is what it should look like.

Edit: Also be sure to save it as DxDiag under notepad so you have access to it in the future.

Please note that there is more after this but I don't want to spam this thread.

...then perhaps you should be working for them since u know so much more...
They can't afford me. The salaries they offer aren't even in the same continent let alone the same neighborhood as my current compensation. I had a friend who worked for a year on the Geek Squad. He quit as soon as he could get a better job.
