What's with the obsession?

I have lots of jewels in the safes down in the cellar..

and, for every build I have made a pile of dead bandits' weapons next to the front stairs.. you know, as a warning to others..

One of my characters collected every pick ax and wood ax she came across. Pretty soon there was an ax shortage in the entire Provence.

I usually keep all unique items, a few of anything I can't craft, and all crafting supplies (or use them). Or anything I really like the look of. Nothing I'm really obsessed with, but I usually keep all the Blackbriar reserve, and a good solid stock of meads, wines, and ales.

One of my "things" is I usually don't give anything to the elf for the Embassy quest, and clean out all the food and drinks from the party.

I never hoard anything to be honest...

Its not to say I dont have a decent collection of Soul Gems, Ingots, Pelts and Jewels, but those things are useful and are used up before they ever reach that point.

I dont even hoard gold. I have never got the 100 000gold achievement (I got up to 90 000 than bought Proudspire once).

I like collecting some books, but only good ones that I have read (or spell tomes I already know). Ive never filled an entire bookcase before...

I used to collect all the arrows I came across but I dont even do that anymore...

I something wrong with me  ?

I've got a lot of clothes. I always grab them and say to myself "Oh I'll wear these around town!" Then I throw them in a drawer in my house and let them sit forever.

Interesting that you mentioned this because, yes, I usually have one thing that a character does collect for no other reason than to collect it. One character collects Deathbell and Nightshade, simply because she finds the color and shape of the flowers to be really beautiful, but doesn't use them for Alchemy. Another character collects Nirnroot because, hey, it's a plant that makes a noise and glows! My warrior-type always keeps claws/teeth/antlers (bear claws, sabre cat teeth, hagraven claws, deer antlers, etc) as trophies.

Recently I started RP-ing Lokir of Rorikstead (imagining that he didn't foolishly run off and get himself shot, but rather successfully fled Helgen in the confusion of the dragon attack) and I have him obsessively hoarding gems; not selling them but keeping them all because they're just so...shiny.

Most of my character horde gemstones for the reason that they find them precious. I do like that keeping gemstones in Proudspire manor somewhat fulfilling.

Like others have mentioned, I ALWAYS take every single book I find. It doesn't matter what kind of character I play. If I see a book, I take it and add it to my collection. I think that's my way of making my real life desire for a library a reality, in a way.

Am I a horder because my Blackthorne now has 5,247 Elven Arrows? I started collecting them because she's headed for vampirism and she wanted to make sure she had sun & blood arrows, but I think it's getting out of hand. My chest at Breezehome is bursting!

I agree on the gem thing though, although I've gotten better. Now I only collect "flawless" ones and sell the rest. It just got tiring to be level 10 and have 10's of thousands of septims in gems laying about and having no cash to buy anything. :)

Actually in one of my playthroughs, Lokir didn't die! He just ran but the archer didn't shoot the arrow/missed him!

I wonder, wouldn't Lokir be going to Hammerfell if he fled Helgen?

Did that in my last playthrough. Felt bad Lakeview Manor's librarys were empty so I hoarded all the books I could find. I felt pretty proud of myself until I checked the second floor of the library...
