Where did you buy your first house/mount

Im just curious where did you buy your first house? and at about what level? im wanting one to store my books in and one that can have a enchanting table but also a decent size for my married life lol. I was gonna get the one in whiterun then i thought maybe ill hold off and buy my first house in riften.

Also how far into the game did you get your first mount? Are some mounts faster than others? i dont wanna spend a 1000 at whiterun if i can get a faster horse later on that wont die so easily or are they all the same?

Pretty sure 95+% of people's first home is Whiterun... mine was, now I refuse to buy it on other playthroughs.

I don't use the horses, the lack of mounted combat probably being the biggest reason. I don't mind fighting every crab, wolf, bear, spriggan, mage, thalmor patrol, bandit, troll, etc that I see.

I did get Shadowmere as part of the DB questline, but I never use him.

yea thats my problem, i collect every book i see because i love reading them, most of them are pretty entertaining

Yeah Im the exact same way. I pick up every book I see, and then sell the duplicates. Im such a bookworm. It looks like the house with the most strorage space is Hjerim.

Whiterun Breezehome with all upgrades, got a second home in Windhelm (Hjerim) not furnished.
First and second horse was from Whiterun Stables. Both dead. Now have a Pinto from Markarth Stables.

Dr. D'Irsei bought Breezehome for herself somewhere around 9th or 10th level, and although she still owns it, she needed more room for her dental tools and such, and so purchased Proudspire Manor in Solitude about 4 levels later.

She rode some dead guy's horse for a while until it fell off a cliff. Then purchased a Pinto outside Markarth...which slid off a cliff. Her last horse was bought outside Windhelm. Once up in the mountains, it slid off a cliff. There have been no more horse purchases.

My first house is in Whiterun. I'm not very extravagent. Since I'm sucvh a big fan of the College of Winterhold, I did a combination of staring my enchanting equipment at the college, and all my combat equipment and collectables in Whiterun.

I've only bought like three horses the entire time I've played this game. I found that finishing off the civil war rewards you with being able to take horses from any of the forts/camps you encountered. I used them for the longest time since they were free and, more importantly, expendable.

On my second time around, I decided to take up residence in Riften. It's close to my Guild. It has an alchemy table as well as an enchanting table (AND a tanning rack on the deck). The room downstairs is nice for Iona.

I wish there were more cutomizable options. I could use about 3 more mannequins (and weapon racks) for displaying the gear that looks cool but that I no longer use.

Whiterun like everyone else. I like to have places to put my loot early on. My next house will probably be the one in riften to keep me close to my thieving peeps.

Seems like your horses have a rough time with cliffs lol

Cliffs, spontaneous and unseen lateral forces (as applied on cliffs), gravity (where it kicks in below cliffs), double handed warhammers (avoided by reigning in early on distant cliffs) - yes. Dr. D'Irsei's horses are...awash in their own complexities, shall we say? Troubled.

White run, with my huge gold total. Of 1500, and lost it 10 minutes later. I swear it ran away!! Might have to wander back there and see if its still waiting.

Stole my first horse, and my first house was the breezehome, i believe its probally everyones first home.
