PS3 Who is your favourite follower in Skyrim?

I don't really think Sven or Faendal are very good. I was using Cosnach but he died. He was a pretty good follower.

Faendal and Sven are the earliest followers you can get, which makes sense that they can die easily. I like to use Cicero a lot for the simple fact that I don't have to worry about him dying, makes my life easier. Only follower I've ever had die on me was Lydia, and well, I wasn't too bummed about it.

My archer has Faendal as a follower. Yes, he can die very easily, but he has won a soft spot in her heart. My sword maiden just gets pissed off at followers. They get in her way, and usually end up on the wrong end of her swords. So she just sticks to traveling the world alone.

I'm partial to Cicero. Yes, he's polarizing for sure, and he gets on my nerves at times, but he's good in a fight and can't die, so that's a plus.

He was actually pretty hilarious as I was perusing the "Butcher" journals that were on one of my bookshelves. He was all, "OOOOOOOH!! The Butcher! Stab! Stab! Stab!"

Serana!
1. She's a freaking vampire!!!
2. She's hot.
3. She has has a personality and backstory.
4. She's essential so I don't have to worry about killing her with accidental spells.

i quite liked marcurio the mage (despite him whining like a bitch every time i asked to trade things with him) purely because he fireballed the crap out of everyone, and enemies are so much easier to kill when on fire. also, i had a soft spot for borgakh the steel heart, she was amazing. i remember one time i was up some hill fireballing a dragon, and the dragon landed at the bottom of the kill. borgakh ran up to him, starting hitting him in the face with her axe, then climbed on top of his head an smashed his brains out, kill move style. was brilliant and i havent forgotten it since. also used jenassa when i was doing the thieves guild quest and i was impressed with her, she was fun to listen to as well. at the moment ive just restarted as a bosmer archer, so im giving faendal a try and so far, so good :)

I love Cicero with all my heart, but he has zero understanding of personal space. For this reason, I don't take him around with me

Jenassa is my favorite follower by far. Good at sneaking, great with a bow, and she dual wields.

Any that doesn't run in front of me and take an arrow to the back of the head.

The only follower that I've ever used out of my own free will is Faendal from Whiterun, but even then, I didn't have him accompany me for very long, and generally don't take on followers willingly.

The reason is because my play-style is more of a stealthy, one-man approach; I level in sneak, stick to the shadows, and use mainly a bow or a dagger to get where I need to go. However, my character is also familiar with the use of a sword and shield for when things get... hectic. Alas, I find the use of a follower to hinder my approach. Often times I won't attack an enemy if I don't have to; I'll simply sneak right past them, much like a sniper or a reconnaissance force would do in modern-day military outfits, and therefore, the usage of a follower can be more of a nuisance than a helping hand.

Try having Mercer and Cicero. It's a hoot.

I agree with you. I love stealth and use a Bound Bow for picking off unsuspecting enemies from the shadows but I sometimes I get caught. Usually, I conjure a Dremora Lord or something. I'm pretty good with Two-Handed Weapons. I don't think followers are overly useful as they get incapacitated quickly but they serve as a good distraction. I ALWAYS attack enemies. Good for levelling up. I'd even attack a fox or an elk if they're near. And by the way, Faendal is from Riverwood.
