Wildcat without the stagger spam - does anyone else tone it down

I've been running Wildcat for like three years straight but finally got tired of everything staggers everything. Even with the MCM tweaks it felt like I was playing a knockdown simulator instead of actual combat. Dropped it last week and swapped to a lighter combat mod and honestly the game feels way more readable now.

But here's the thing - I don't want to go back to vanilla either. Wildcat fixed so many actual problems with Skyrim's AI and pacing that I can't unsee them. The way enemies use power attacks, the healing, the positioning - that stuff is legitimately better.

Anyone else caught in this middle ground? Like do you just disable the stagger perks in the MCM or did you find a different combat mod that scratches the same itch without turning every bandit encounter into a ragdoll physics demo. I know Vigor exists but I haven't tested it properly yet.

I get this complaint, honestly. Wildcat's stagger system is overkill - you end up in these situations where a draugr gets knocked around so much it never actually gets to do anything, which defeats the purpose of having tough enemies in the first place.

That said, disabling the stagger perks in the MCM doesn't really work the way you'd hope. You lose a lot of the perk tree functionality and it creates weird gaps where certain builds suddenly feel pointless. I tried that route and ended up just uninstalling it anyway.

Vigor's a totally different beast though - way less aggressive with the knockdowns, focuses more on injury penalties and stamina management. It's slower paced, which some people hate, but if you liked what Wildcat did for enemy AI without the constant staggers, it might actually be your answer. The trade-off is it's less flashy and more about resource management.

What lighter mod did you swap to? I'm curious if there's something between vanilla and full Wildcat that actually works.
