Your "wow" moments.

Many, many hours in on 2 characters I just realised that I was causing waves when I was wading through some shallow water, so I wandered around the cave a bit more staring at the water. Nothing stupendous, but amazing attention to detail.

Ivarstead, i don't know about anyone else but i love that town, its autumnal leaves, incredible view, its secluded, its got a cool river and its right next to the throat of the world, when i got there i decided i was going to marry someone who lived there just so i could live there

Had another 'wow!' moment today: Eastmarch! Was following the main road up from Riften to Windhelm, diverted off to go pay the Imperial encampment a visit, headed back towards the road, was nearing a giant's camp that I turned off a bit to hopefully avoid... and spotted a dragon circling around.

Took care of that (very easy - it was landed with its back to me to bother some mammoths), and then stared around at the landscape. Which is just stunning. HOTSPRINGS! Sulfurous ones! Totally unexpected and I stared around in glee. Very desolate, but very beautiful.

Mine wasn't until my second play through when I decided to walk to whiterun after the first dragon fight instead of fast travel and actually heard the grey beards shout Dovahkin (Dragonborn)

A cool moment was when i was liked chased by a dragon i just ran, then i understood i had to kill it, after 10 min it was dead, it was so freaking cool,

Fighting two god damn blood bragons that the game decided to spawn in the middle of windhelm or whatever its called.seeing the whole town gaurd and the kahjiit merchant band together to kill them was nifty. All those arrows made short work of them.

The suckiest moment was doing the quest where I give all my stuff to delphine(?) to crash some party. Right after i give her all my items a damn dragon spawns while im sitting there naked. Sadly i very heroicly hid in a barn while delphine, the future mother of my super babies, killed the dragon. When it landed i ran up determined to help out even if it was Irish fisticuffs style. As for landing the killing blow it was all delphine.

And my most ridiculous moment was the time I entered Solitude for the first time on a different character and the game autosaves....just as a cauldron comes rocketing out of a shop. Apparently Skyrim thought it was Gandalf and pulled a "you shall not pass" cause the god damn cauldron hit me so hard I slammed againts the main gate and died. Cut to load scene. "Wasn't I just...no....no!" Yea respawned me right where I died from the damn cauldron only to die again...to the very same cauldron. It only happend another two times 4 in total before the game got it right. Yea...that day sucked.

My first encounter with a killcam execution style wowed thew hell out of me. I was fighting a humanoid, and I staggared him, then crippled him to the point where he called for mercy. I ran up to him while he was crawling, and the camera flipped to show my character grab her Elven sword with both hands and she slid the blade right through the elf's back and through his chest. I've seen her stick the sword into chests and stomachs, but never seen her grab the sword with both hands just to impale someone. I was so excited I actually had to tell the first person I saw.

a cool moment was when i had got the fist of steel perk, so i walked in to whiterun i walked up to this old bitch, she was like: Come to chat with an old woman, do your good deed today? i was like fluff no bitch then i just kept hitting her, then i got this like cool killcam execution style, i just puched her in the face like 3 times, then i attacked all the gaurds :D after 20 min i was dead, so where all the gaurds to :D

I feel derpy about it, but it was on my first character when I still had like no idea what was going on and had joined the Companions. On that one mission where you go with Farkas to Dustman's Cairn. And I was trapped in the little room, and the Silver Hands showed up, and then bam, Farkas turned into a werewolf. Mind you, I'd decided that reading anything about skyrim or talking about it, up until I played it, would be a foolish action, and I had NO FLIPPIN IDEA that there were werewolves. And I just squealed with glee like a twelve year old girl with Bieber tix.

My most recent one was when I figured out that I could bash with a torch and set people on fire. So I kept following one Riften guard around and bashing him with the torch and giggling. My brothers think I'm a retard.

Hi There,

New to the board although I’ve been playing for the last few weeks. I’m up to level 23.

There have been some great responses here and I have experienced some of those as well, so it’s not worth repeating. A couple of “wow” moments I had were on a smaller scale but really cool. The first one was the animation when I collected my first soul in a gem. I’m dual wielding and one of the weapons I picked up was a Dwarven Axe of Animus. While it doesn’t do as much damage as the Mace of Molal (sp? The one for finishing House of Horrors), the Axe gives you 10 seconds to kill the target whereas the mace only gives you 3. Anyway, I had all of these empty gems and after I got the axe I have a whole boatload of full ones now. Collecting the soul looks great.

The second one, which also comes from melee combat, is the animation you see when you use the perk “Savage Strike” . This gives you a 25% chance to decapitate the opponent off a power move. Yeah, you know it’s coming, but the first time it happened was when it goes to the dramatic cut screen/kill shot, and instead of simply finishing them off, I put the victim’s head between my sword and my axe and then SLICE!

Blew me away. J Then there was another one where I had a big slashing move that cut the guy’s head off. Didn’t expect it.

My biggest "wow moment" was when I encountered my first dragon priest on my using my retired character. I was around level 14 or so and I saw a dragon head on my radar, so I figured I'd run up the mountain and give him a good lashing. When I got to the top it triggered the battle with him, but I got zapped by something else. I turned around and right by the word wall as a dragon priest. It scared the tar out of me, and needless to say, it beat me pretty quick.

Another wow moment actually happened to me yesterday. I was using my Altmer mage and I finally got through Labyrinthian to face Morokei. I knew what was coming, so he wasn't really a surprise. What did shock me was that, when I finally beat him after about two hours of trying, right by his body stood Lydia alive and well. I was sure that this fight was going to be her last, but thankfully she pulled through.:)

One of mine was the first time I killed a dragon with the disintegrate perk from the destruction skill tree. It reared on its hind legs and it turned to ash.

So, I was just walking to Solitude when all of a sudden; these 3 people come up to me (hired thugs) , say : "Im gonna teach you a lesson; this will teach you not to take things that don't belong to you" (or something like that) then start attacking me; since im surprised, i instantly go werewolf, quickly kill one of them, get the other two to low health, I have low health now, so I start running, than I turn back (to an Argoinon) and I immedetly (spellt that wrong) get out healing, take out fire spell and start hitting these guys, kill one of them, the guy with a war~hammer has a sliver of health left, so do I, my magickas out (I only use spells) he comes up to me, is about to kill me he is in mid~swing I just scream than, all of a sudden my follower (an elf thats been following me from my first experince in Riverwood) kills him with an arrow!!! Im just sitting there, my jaw dropping...

getting inducted into the companions and a dragon started to attack whiterun. couldnt even exit the dialogue. all i could do is wait while the dragon was slaughtering guards.

My Wow moment was when i was hunting in the wilds when i meet this afflicted refugee, after talking to him and recieving his quest, a wolf decides to attack us, as i ready my bow this guy suddenly pukes the wolf to his death, he was also the first person i didnt randomly murder, what use are shouts if you can puke ?!

I haven't perked up my speech before, so I was blown away when I emptied Arcadia of all ingredients, then I started to sell all my crappy poisons and potions (failed combinations, imo). I didn't even sell ten of my poisons when her pockets were emptied. I'm like Whaaat?! I still have crappy potions, too... just weighing me down.

I had a little "WOW" moment the other day.

I played TAG with two little girls in Whiterun. Why is that in this game? It was very cute, very unnecessary part for the programmers to add. And yet they did add it, and it made me stop and look at all the NPC's in this game. This was in one section of one city on this whole vast continent. Pretty epic to take a moment to chase kids in the street for no reason other than that I can.

The tiny-ness of that moment made me realize the big-ness of the game.

You can also play hide-and-seek with the children. It's a nice little change, trying to sneak away from a child and most unexpectedly you hear, "Hah! found you!" When my sneak improved, I actually let them catch me out of guilt.
