Imperials or Stormcloaks, what one?

What this thread needs is a poll, to tally who/what is better overall + opinions in words.

A poll wouldn't help decide which side is better, because it's entirely your opinion. As for people giving their opinions on why think which side is better, that's the majority of this thread.

Not quite, I am speaking from a mathematical perspective. In this case, Statistics. A visual representation.

I like how a guy wanted a simple question answered and it became a 332 page debate that went so high that it hit the levels of Sheogorath.

This thread makes me want to become a neurobiologist so I can better understand how we think and predict things in the future :)

My major is Clinical and Counseling Psychology. Some of the classes I take now (such as Sociology and Social Psychology) will literally open your eyes to some weird ****.

When you keep typing like that? I have to wonder if it'll affect your writing elsewhere. I mean after constantly writing like that you might start referring to yourself in the third person which some would consider insane.

What about Fort Frostmoth?

As for Leyawiin "Leyawiin used to be a primarily Khajiit city that was part of Elsweyr, but was later annexed into Cyrodiil due to an agreement between the Mane and the Empire." So yeah Khajiit must get over it because "The Khajiiti government is a confederacy held together by the Mane"

Simply because the Mane agreed does not mean the people have. Single individuas are weak... they may be bribed. May be threatened. May be convinced. Ozan does not embrace the desires of the mane. He embraces only the desires of the Khajiiti people. Much like how he embraces the idea of freedom in Hammerfell on behalf of the Redguard people. How he embraces the ideals of Stormcloak for the Nord people.

And I would ask you to refrain from using words like "always" and "never" unless you can be really sure about them. You didn't miss this post. You responded to it.
I said if you ever did, I would have missed it.

Okay, well, I'll repeat my question here and you can help me out. Because I have looked, and I am having trouble finding it.

It may not even be said exactly when Ulfric pointed out that Skyrim was openly worshiping Talos. I said that I could vaguely remember reading it in a book before, and to ask Dagmar to clarify it for you. Something that specific is probably not going to be chronicled though, and is why you would need to rely on NPCs in this case.

I'm not sure what is wrong with the text above, hopefully you can make it out though.

You're not attending the class to figure out whats wrong with yourself are ya? I ask this not to be insulting... but over past history of seeing mental health workers (Psychologist/Psychiatrists). You would think by going to them you would be talking to some of down to earth people; I was wrong. They were more insane than I was.

People will go as long as it takes to prove that what they believe is better than the opposing side.

That's the problem. I only want people to understand that either choice is valid. Not that only one side is valid. But Imperial supporters in this thread seem unable to grant that.

It's a shame, too. Because if you go along with that, you lose half of one of biggest quests.

I don't see an answer in that text.

You stated in a post before this that the Thalmor did not start cracking down upon Talos worshippers in Skyrim until Ulfric pointed it out.

I only want confirmation. Surely if you can make this statement, you must have some basis?

When did Ulfric "point it out"? You must have some idea.

I'm sure neither side believes only one side is valid, people just go with the side they has the most valid reasons. I'm sure the other side believes the exact same of the SC supporters.

What quest?

4E 176 would be when Ulfric pointed out the Talos worship in Skyrim. "The Imperial Legion had been largely ignoring Talos worship in Skyrim, but the Thalmor used the opportunity to demand its rigid enforcement"

What makes you think I would know when you he pointed it out? Various NPCs tell you of how lenient the Empire was before the Civil War. Afterwards however, when it's made quite obvious that they actually are worshiping Talos, the Empire is then forced to crack down on it as to not violate the terms of the WGC. I was simply telling you what is told to us by the inhabitants of Skyrim. Others have already said exactly what I've said before, I think it's pretty much common sense to assume that he would have pointed out Skyrim's free worship of Talos after the Civil War is declared since NPCs tell you this.

Only one side is valid, or one side is more valid... it matters not how you put it. The whole point being that if you're so convinced that the side you've chosen is right (or more valid, or whatever words you prefer to use), then you are missing half of the Civil War quest.

If you can't play it with a deep understanding of why the other side believes as they do, and for reasons that are EXACTLY as valid as your own, I think you're missing a big part of the experience. I think that's a shame.

"Ulfric escaped back to Windhelm to continue his campaign, purportedly with the aid of the Thalmor, who wished for Ulfric's rebellion to continue so Skyrim would remain divided and distracted" Lore - Ulfric Stormcloak

I see the side which is valid is the side that isn't be aided by the Thalmor, is the side that isn't helping the Thalmor complete their plans of destroying the Empire.

This is following the Markarth Incident. 4E 176.

So when Alvor talks about people being happy to keep their shrines in their private homes, he was talking about.... less than a one year period.... spanning the end of the Great War in 4E 175 and the Markarth Incident in 4E 176?

So the Thalmor have been dragging people out of their homes for 26 years before the Civil War?

No. "Following the Markarth Incident, Ulfric was arrested. His father, The Bear of Eastmarch, died while Ulfric was imprisoned, and Ulfric was forced to deliver his eulogy via a letter that he had smuggled out of prison" He was arrested so the dragging people wouldn't of happened yet, not until later on. Torygg wasn't High King yet. The dragging people would of happened just before the rebellion, to spark it off.

This post wasn't for me but I want to respond to it anyways :)

Base on what I've gathered up from the Thalmor in the game is that their there because the Emperor allowed them to be there when he signed the treaty to ban the worship of Talos. It has nothing to do with Ulfric.

We already went through that conspiracy theory, in the last couple of weeks, even.

The Empire is also helping the Thalmor. They signed an agreement that permits them to have free access to Skyrim cities, castles, dungeons, and citizens. If that's not helpful to them, I don't know what is.

The source he gave you is inaccurate to what you seek. What he posted is only telling you what happend after the Great War.
