Absolute favorite race.

I love playing as an Altmer. (Though, honestly, most races are great) but I just really enjoy coming up with backstories for these guys. They also appeal to my nerdy side because they make such banging mages and I love mages (though they can be difficult to play as the game progresses, but that's half the fun!)
 
My favorite race for a mage would have to be Dunmer...they are small when compared to other races but when they charge up a fire storm you should run for cover
 
Nord, every time. No contest. Why?
Because Skyrim is the first and only ES game I've ever played, and I fell in love with the people and the culture. As for the racial ability, I find it infinitely more useful than any of the others, because none of the other racial abilities can save you from max difficulty. Good God... would take forever to get through the game without battle cry. There's nothing like seeing my enemies rout before me. The frost resistance is also nice, and I am infatuated with the whole nordic culture.

I fell in love with Khajiit in Skyrim and then tried to go back to Oblivion and play one...not so much. No matter how long you spend with the character creator, you can't help but think "Nope...still looks like a handicapped lion." :confused:

The beast races were pretty horrifying in Oblivion.

For some reason I played as a female Khajiit for a good portion of my first Oblivion playthrough. Probably because I liked the Dark Brotherhood armor more. Then I saw the statue of me in the Imperial City and thought "Nah" and changed to an old guy.
 
Bosmer. I love love love sneaking about the mountains and shooting the targets from very far away. I also love how they look. In real life I think I would look like a Bosmer.
 
Nords. The were the first men to settle Tamriel and established the first Empire of men. The fathers of us all have conquered just about every foe they have ever encountered and remain a force to be reckoned with to this day. Their proud history and strong culture is what sets them apart from every other race in my book. Quite often ruled by their emotions, the Nords have been branded savages by many and whilst to a degree this may be true, it only highlights their humanity. The Nords have done it all.
 
Breton: I play them a lot and enjoy them
Imperials: Nah
Nords: I play them a lot ( i'm swedish too)
Redguards: Don't mind them but no
Orcs: Nah
Woodies: Nah
High elves: My friend Ryan loves them, but i'm not a huge fan.
Argonians: Awesome
Khajit: cool

In the end it is down to Bretons and Nords, The edge is Breton though since i played them a lot in Oblivion.
 
For me, Dunmer all the way. They are by far the coolest looking characters in the game.

I like Imperials, I read somewhere about their origin that they Share the same Decendants as the Nords but they to a small extent may be part Ayleid, this is undouptful because the Nedic people who traveled to cyrodiil were enslaved by them, there is no reason to say that a few slavemasters would have raped their captives and more lickley than not unknowingly impregnated them, and then the Cyro-Noridcs came about and the ayleids vanished and when Tiber septim rose to power in 896 2E the name was changed to Imperial, odds are that that is probably who they decended from, they 2 like the Bretons are a mongrel race but not part Altmer as Bretons are but Ayleid and to a lesser extent
 
Dark Elf. I view them as more of an all-around race. The Jarl of Whiterun has a mage-warrior Dark Elf, there's an archer-thief in the Thieves' Guild (Nightingales, Carliah [I think is how you spell her name]), assassins, and pure mages. Just my opinion though.
 
Thats a no brainer, Orc no doubt! They not only make the best warrior characters but imho there the coolest looking characters on the game, they look like they could eat the enemies face off! plus they got the most awesome power of any character.

I concur. Typically, I play as an Imperial anytime I load up a TES game for the first time but I usually end up biding my time until I can play Bosmer. Nothing more satisfying for me then that little sound the game plays when you successfully sneak attack a foe from a distance with your bow.
