Back in the N64 era did Zelda Ocarina of Time feel like the Skyrim of the 90s?

I remember when I was younger I was sucked into Ocarina of Time and even Majora's Mask just as much as I am sucked into Skyrim. But nowdays I can't get into OOT like I used too although Ocarina of Time is still a great game to play for a change every so often if I get bored of modern day gaming did anyone else feel this way?

Funny you post this I actually stopped playin Skyrim n started playin OOT last Friday lol. First time actually playin it (only had smash bros. , Mariokart64 n Hydro Thunder back in the day) n it definately reminds me of Skyrim without a doubt. Its nice to flashback to 90s gaming cuz it was just more epic back then cuz it wasnt really done before. Now a days most if not all games are the same ole song either A) Some Army/War FPS or B) Lost soldier fending off Aliens C) year after year sports games or D) WoW style RPGs. Not even done with the forest temple yet n I'm already beggining to crack n want to check out a freakin guide!

Nope. When I play OoT, I feel like I'm playing a Legend of Zelda game.

I know what you mean, as far as the amazing openness of the game. OoT always totally captures me when I play, it's been the same since the first time I ever ran around in it. There's so much to do, so many characters (major and minor) with so many vibrant and different personalities, so many places to get lost in, I can see how it'd remind you of Skyrim.

I get nostalgic for OoT quite often. And really there's no reason why I can't do something about it, I own two copies of it (one on N64, and one on Gamecube/Wii). Maybe this weekend I'll dust off the N64 and fire it up.

Skyrim and OoT pale in comparison to the "sucked in" level the A Link to the Past and Super Metroid (both on SNES) had on me.
