Death Knight in Skyrim

I wanted to create a new character which would be alike the death knight arche-types in some other games, like from wow.

my opinion on the skills is:
Conjuration (raising dead)
Destruction (frost)
Enchanting (enchant weapons/add runes and perhaps enchant armor)
Two-Handed(no one-handed, you could easily replace spells and 2-h weapons, it's also prefferred to use greatswords)
Smithing(To get the Ebony Armor and Daedric Armor sets in later levels)
Heavy Armor(a death knight allways uses heavy armor)

Preffered armor: Steel Plate (Most of the time at lower levels, should be acquired at the begining of the game, via smithing)
Ebony Armor/Daedric armor/Dragon Armor preffered choice of appearance or benefits

Additonal: Preffered usage of Ebony Mail, Ebony Blade and Shadowmere

Tell me what you think about it.

Plain steel doesn't very well fit a Death Knight, but for the start it's okay. Same goes for dragon. The two-handed is good, but perhaps you have a bit too much magic there.

Death knight = Ebony or Daedric armor

Also Steel Plate is NOT on the Heavy Armor smithing tree. Steel Armor is, but Steel plate requires Advanced Crafting, from the Light Armor tree. if you can get your hand on a set of Orcish Armor, that would be better.

Now Steel plate is an Heavy Armor and a lot of Bandit Chief wear it, so easy to find.

I personally would go 1 handed in the right hand and Spell in the left hand though.

maybe take vampirism to get the Drain Life spell.

I would go with wielding a one hand because of the stamina drain of the two-handed. You would have to throw more points into Stamina otherwise which would take away from your magicka. (see below) The Ghostblade is one handed, has the weight of a dagger so little stamina drain, 100% armor piercing (maces has 3 perks to get 75%), it's freaking called the ghostblade! Fitting for a Deathknight. Be on the lookout for ectoplasm to upgrade (never use those for alchemy until ghostblade is legendary).

You want DG. The deathknightish spells (heal your undead minions, summon a spectral horse, summon new undead, the shouts), the evil dogs, get the Crown that allows 2 Stones with ritual being one of them. This means no helmet so just get the bottom Heavy Armor Juggernault. Wear a Hood before then; it looks great with the ebony armor and personally I don't like the ebony helmet. And you can still reach the armor cap of 567.

Get the detect life/death spells too - it's your soul vision.

I have a nord ice maiden build (current level 22) which uses two-handed and ice magic. Ice magic is the range weapon. Combat, presently, goes 2 ice storms, no magicka, 2 handed fighting with 140 stamina. A sabre kitty or teddy bear will give me one swipe that will cut half my health (fur armor) before they're dead'uns which raises my light armor. Battles are tough. She's also trying to get conjuration up to get a frost atro, cast a flesh spell before battle.

Ghostblade would allow you to spam power attacks.

Great shouts for death knights too!
Dismay - a wave of oh plops, we're in trouble emanates from you. no need for illusion spells (the fear and terror aspect perk)
Become ethereal - become a ghost!
Marked for death.
The frost ones (damage and paralyze).
With DG - summon a bone dragon, rip souls from people and become your minion
I wouldn't go with the call for valor shout...

When DG comes out for PS3, I'm going to play a deathkight!

i am surprised no one mentioned the ebony blade here. IT is a 2h sword but it's damage is boosted further than normal by the 1h skill.

anyways heavy armor is a must as well as the conjuration school of magic for the necromancy perks. Also throw in a little ice-based destruction.
