OOC Heart of Darkness

Name: Neo (flaw in Italian)

Race: Wood Elf

Age: Looks to be in her early 20s.

Physical: Neo is short, even by a Wood Elf's standards. This is most likely due to the fact that she was born prematurely, when her family was moving themselves and their meager belongings to Skyrim in hopes of building a better life. Being born two months premature not only caused Neo to grow up to be especially short, but because of a slight complication in the delivery, clouded her left eye so badly that she was practically blind. She is able to see out of her bad eye, but her vision is so milky and hazy that she had to grow up learning to depend on only her right eye.
Aside from the complication that made her left eye practically white, Neo looks the typical Wood Elf. Her skin is naturally tan, even in the winter time, and her dark brown hair is short and choppy. Her good eye is a brilliant golden color, and it seems to glow whenever the sun is high in the sky.

History: Neo was the result of an accidental pregnancy and the reason behind her family's decision to move to Skyrim, where they could be closer to friends and family in Windhelm. After making an emergency delivery just across the Skyrim-Tamriel border, Neo's family makes it to Windhelm just before the winter seasons comes around. Once there, they learn that Skyrim is not the place of fortune and acceptance they had heard of.

Growing up, Neo is introduced to racism and judgement at an early age, due to her race and her disability. As she grows older and begins to understand the true hardships her family goes through, she turns to petty thievery to help make ends meet. She finds that she's surprisingly good at it, and her thieving expands to more dangerous jobs. Soon, she starts sneaking into businesses, and then eventually turns to residences.

Neo gains a bit of notoriety among Windhelm, although the guards have no idea who keeps breaking and entering. By now she has become a young woman, familiar with all the streets, people, and mannerisms of Windhelm. One night, however, she makes the mistake of trying to break into the Jarl's chambers, where she had heard rumors that he had come into possession of a stone of Barenziah. As she climbed through the window, she was met with a large group of angry guards pointing their blades at her. They were taken aback when they saw who the "notorious thief" was, but still took her down to the dungeons and beat her to make sure she never committed thievery in Windhelm ever again. As a result, she has a large number of scars running across her back, and a few trailing down her upper arm.

Sick of what she's had to experience in Skyrim, she decides to leave the province altogether and decides to try her luck at what Cyrodiil has to offer.

Personality: Neo is surprisingly easy going and good natured for someone of her upbringing. She's quick to make friends, knowing that if they were to turn on her or betray her in some way that she could relieve them of all the money and valuables they own without hesitation or trouble. She still experiences problems with her eyesight when she's somewhere new, but adapts after she becomes familiar with her surroundings. The only time her eye doesn't bother her is when she's in her element; namely when she's stealing or fighting.
In addition, Neo is a bit unpredictable. Her emotions switch from hot to cold in a matter of seconds. She tends to trust a bit too easily and her temper has been known to get the best of her. She can be a bit of a smart ass, and the one thing that will infuriate her without question is any negative comment regarding her gender, her race, or her eye, the only things she's truly sensitive about.

Fighting style: While her fighting style is more on the stealthy side (a full on assault from a small, skinny Wood Elf wouldn't do much harm to anyone), she's learned a thing or two in Windhelm and has become proficient in wielding small daggers, one in each hand. Her years of stealth "training" have made her legs very strong, and she's remarkably quick.

All right, let me know if that's ok or if you'd like me to change anything. :)

Cool. I pruned the eye-trauma out of Fitzroy's background, because that'd be a weird thing to double-up on. It's no problem - it was pretty much irrelevant to anything else, whereas it seems well woven into Neo's background.

Oh gosh, in all honesty I didn't see it in your character card. ^^'' that's what I get for skimming.

Rob, since this is your RP, just let me know when you'd like me to join. Maybe I can encounter you guys on the road?

Hey, if you have room for someone else could I join?
I completely understand if I cannot join, especially since I haven't quite participated in a roleplaying thread before, I was just choosing this one because of the people from Rise Of the Falmer.

But the story does sound something I'd love to participate in.

Again if I can't, no hard feelings.
