Playing through Oblivion for the first time after spending like 500 hours in Skyrim, and I'm genuinely confused about how Speechcraft is supposed to work. In Skyrim you just pick dialogue options and it either lands or it doesn't. But here I'm apparently supposed to be rotating through the wheel minigame and hitting the right "disposition zones"? I've failed it so many times that I've basically given up and just quicksave before talking to important NPCs.
Is this actually worth learning or should I just dump points elsewhere and use potions / magic to manipulate people instead? Does it ever feel less clunky, or is this just one of those Oblivion systems that didn't age well?
