The Companions questline is genuinely about grief and nobody talks about it

just finished it again on my current playthrough and i'm sitting here realizing how much the whole thing is structured around people dealing with loss in completely different ways. like, you've got Kodlak who's literally dying and trying to find redemption before it's too late. Aela's still angry about what happened to the previous Harbinger. Vilkas is trying to prove himself after being possessed. Farkas is just... existing and wanting to belong to something.

and then the whole Cursed Tribe questline in the middle is just about Ysgramor's legacy being this weight that nobody can actually carry properly. the Silver Hand aren't even really the point - they're just the thing that forces everyone to confront what they actually want from this guild.

idk, i think people dismiss it because there's no big moral choice like the Civil War or Dark Brotherhood, but the actual character work is there if you pay attention to what people are saying between the radiant jobs. Kodlak's whole arc is basically "i made a deal with a Daedric prince to be stronger and now i'm paying for it and i need someone to help me fix it before i die," which is genuinely heavy.

am i reading too much into this or does anyone else feel like it's the most underrated questline in the game?
