What the fus, Bethesda? (dragonbone weapons)

DovahCap

The one cube to rule them all.
Ranting here. Why did the Dragonbone weapons not get included in non-DLC Skyrim? Why must I pay to get weapons that should technically be in the non-DLC game?

Anyone else here agree with me, that dragonbone weapons should be included in the main game? Why are dragonbone weapons DLC only?

Nope. Additional content for a game is generally always done as DLC. Be grateful they didn't roll the mounted combat and additional kill-cams into it as well.

I think Dragonbone weapons was a big selling point for DG. That's one of the only reasons I bought it, don't really care for vampires. If we already had dragonbone weapons in vanilla than I might not have even bought DG. Same with mounted combat, I think they purposefully leave out some things that would seem common sense to have in the main game so that they can have more to put into a dlc besides a new questline.

I don't see the big deal in dragonbone weapons being included in Dawnguard dlc. In my opinion it helps spice things up. The ability to smith your own arrows was also added on in Dawnguard.

It's not like your paying twenty dollars for dragonbone weapons, your paying twenty for Dawnguard.

I can see why you'd be upset about it, but it's not exactly new for bethesda to do something like this where most people just buy the DLC for the new equipment (Operation Anchorage immediately comes to mind).

Besides, Dawnguard is more than worth it imo; the quest line is surprisingly long and pretty interesting after the kinda boring beginning parts (just like Skyrim itself :p ).

Plus it helps with the whole progression. I don't know what they'll do next, but hopefully it'll look better than dragon bones!

I actually really like how the Dragonbone weapons look; sure they're plain compared to Glass and Daedric, but they actually look like what you'd expect a weapon made from bone to look like. And besides, I never liked how overdone Daedric stuff looked anyway. :p

Well, yeah, I would just prefer a subtler appearance. Like the steel or advanced armor set. I would kill for a set of ancient Falmer weapons that'd look like REALLY shiny steel infused with snow. I just hate the dull bone color, bleak!

I do agree, dragonbone weapons other than the mysteriously shmecks-toy looking warhammer are great looking.
