Your tips for dragon priests?

Lightningfalcon

Seems khajit...
I'm a level 10 sword and shield warrior and i want to get (iforgot the name) a mask which upgrades frost/fire and shock resistance. Will my follower die (not stop and kneel on the floor) cos i wanna bring khajaro.

Most followers can die if they sustain enough damage, yes. Normally when their health gets low, they will crouch down and then the enemy will focus on you. If, however, your follower takes enough damage in a single shot, or you're not close enough for the enemy to turn away from your friend, then it will keep pounding on them until they're dead.

Some followers are marked as essential and can't die, but other than Serana, I'm not sure which specific ones are in that category.

I hope that helps.

I've found that more often than not, getting in a priest's face and hacking away at him works. I know it sounds like I'm being a smartass, but they like to operate with a little distance between you and them. Every one that I've bum-rushed just keeps backing up and never casts any spells. Try that and you might not have to worry at all about your follower. Also, I've found most of my follower's success, whether it be offensive or defensive, heavily relies on what items you give them.

I know the Argonian follower Deekethus never died but you might be too low a level to get him. My guide book recommends lvl 18

Find a Scroll of Guardian Circle, it heals you, and while the DPs are too powerful to be turned, they won't cross the line, and can be trapped in it, or a corner. Otar has a Staff of the Flame Wall, one of the few things that can kill a crouched Follower. So, get an essential one, like Mjoll the Lioness, or Esbern if you haven't already done his quest. After escaping the Ratway, he'll follow you anywhere, even the rest of the game if you just don't take him to the Sleeping Giant. Aela is a good Heavy Armored Archer, but requires you to collect all the parts of Wuuthrad to get her to follow you. Save before you pop the coffin, because it could take several tries with both you, and a mortal follower surviving. or, pick up one of the many Hack&Bash followers, like a housecarl, and let them die after helping you out by tanking long enough to drop the Circle. There's hundreds of them, so they're essentually disposable/replaceable.
