Ulfric Stormcloak

No, no. and No.

He's already been governer of California.

NEWS! :) My first fan fiction is going to be pro Imperial legion/Empire. How incredibly bizarre that is

Well, I am thinking of writing some fan-fic featuring a girl from a family of Forsworn.

The main character, protagonist, of a piece does not have to be the good guy (sorry, Ozan). Think Richard III. You need to sympathize with him, but you do not need to sympathize with him much. And you certainly don't need to support him.

I am, however, a York fan (despite being a Lancashire girl), and tend to think Richard was not given his proper due. He was a good king. Evil. But good.

Mind you, Henry Tudor (the seventh Henry, and from house Lancaster) was a truly outstanding king, possibly the best British king. So there's that.

Henry also won. Despite not possessing the power of the Thu'um (which some might have said Richard acquired when he sacrificed the York Princes-in-the-Tower in some evil ritual).

No. You're adding stuff that ain't there.

No I'm actually not, the quote was directly from your post.
Mede does not fight in "the war", the civil war. The one we've been talking about for 320 pages. He's an old man for crying out loud. I am not saying anything remiss in pointing out that, in this regard, he's different from Tullius, who does fight in it.

All that was inferred was that Mede doesn't put on armor and he doesn't fight.

Well, I did not imply that he didn't fight or put on armor. Had I meant that I would have said in The Great War. But it would be absurd for me to make that suggestion because it's clearly not true! However, no one can blame him for not fighting in the civil war. Like I said, he's an old man. If you think my post suggested that, I'm going to offer that you're starting to see everything I post as unduly negative, and it may be time to rest your eyes.

ETA: Also, now that it's been cleared up -- more than sufficiently -- I'd rather not revisit the issue. Even if you didn't know what I meant before, you do NOW, right?

Mede kicked ass in the Great war. They kept the Thalmor Lord Naarifin alive for thirty three days hanging from the Imperial tower.

"But the Redguards should not forget the great sacrifice of Imperial blood - Breton, Nord, and Cyrodilic - at the Battle of the Red Ring that weakened the Dominion enough to allow the eventual Second Treaty of Stros M'kai in 4E 180 and the withdrawal of Aldmeri forces from Hammerfell." - The Great War, Legate Justianus Quintius.

This is not disputable.

Titus Mede II had only become Emperor 3 years before the Great War. "Despite the warnings of his generals of the Empire's military weakness, Emperor Titus Mede II rejected the ultimatum." He rejected the Thalmor, so there was none of this "He sold skyrim to the Thalmor at the tip of an Aldmeri blade"

"Within days, Aldmeri armies invaded Hammerfell and Cyrodiil simultaneously. A strong force commanded by the Thalmor general Lord Naarifin attacked Cyrodiil from the south, marching out of hidden camps in northern Elsweyr and flanking the Imperial defenses along the Valenwood border. Leyawiin soon fell to the invaders, while Bravil was cut off and besieged.
At the same time, an Aldmeri army under Lady Arannelya crossed into western Cyrodiil from Valenwood, bypassing Anvil and Kvatch and crossing into Hammerfell."

That is why you need to secure Valenwood and Elsweyr before sending all your Army to the Summerset Isles.

"The capture of the Imperial City itself and the complete overthrow of the Empire thus became their primary objective of the next two years. As we know, the Thalmor nearly achieved their objective. It was only because of our Emperor's determined leadership during the Empire's darkest hour that this disaster was averted." Mede is not in any way a coward, he is probably one of the best Emperors.

"In Hammerfell, General Decianus was preparing to drive the Aldmeri back from Skaven when he was ordered to march for Cyrodiil. Unwilling to abandon Hammerfell completely, he allowed a great number of "invalids" to be discharged from the Legions before they marched east. These veterans formed the core of the army that eventually drove Lady Arannelya's forces back across the Alik'r late in 174" The Redguards should be thanking that General.

"During the winter of 4E 174-175, the Thalmor seem to have believed that the war in Cyrodiil was all but over. They made several attempts to negotiate with Titus II. The Emperor encouraged them in their belief that he was preparing to surrender; meanwhile, he gathered his forces to retake the Imperial City." If Mede was a coward, if the Empire surrendered to the Thalmor they would of done it HERE. When the Thalmor hold the Imperial City.

"Although victorious, the Imperial armies were in no shape to continue the war. The entire remaining Imperial force was gathered in Cyrodiil, exhausted and decimated by the Battle of the Red Ring. Not a single legion had more than half its soldiers fit for duty. Two legions had been effectively annihilated, not counting the loss of the Eighth during the retreat from the Imperial City the previous year. Titus II knew that there would be no better time to negotiate peace, and late in 4E 175 the Empire and the Aldmeri Dominion signed the White-Gold Concordat, ending the Great War." The Emperor knew he could not fight any longer, he isn't a coward. He is a man who cares for his people, something Ulfric lacks when it comes to Peace talks where he cares more for land than dragons killing his people.

"However, there is a great difference between agreeing to such terms under the mere threat of war, and agreeing to them at the end of a long and destructive war. No part of the Empire would have accepted these terms in 4E 171, dictated by the Thalmor at swords-point. Titus II would have faced civil war. By 4E 175, most of the Empire welcomed peace at almost any price."

The Empire didn't surrender, it was a Peace Treaty, to rebuild for the next war.

We soooo need a confused button. 'Cause I am like soooo confused by your post. Well, not your post. Your reason for posting your post.

Um, this is in reply to what exactly?

Mede did showed his true strength and skills during the Great war when he recapture the Imperial city, and hung Lord Naarifin in a cage from the Imperial tower for 33 days... This is the Mede that I love (no homo) and respect. He did a fantastic job regaining the Imperial city.

This is the part where I start crying.

E 175 — The Great War ends with the White-Gold Concordat.
  • The peace treaty between the Empire and the Aldmeri Dominion gives the Thalmor free rein to stamp out the worship of Talos throughout the Empire, and cedes a large section of southern Hammerfell. Critics note that these terms are almost identical to the ultimatum that Titus II rejected at the start of the war.
4E 175 — Hammerfell leaves the Empire after rejecting the White-Gold Concordat.
  • Titus II renounces Hammerfell as a province of the Empire to preserve the treaty after the Redguards oppose ceding their lands. The Redguards see this as a betrayal, and a lasting bitterness between Hammerfell and the Empire is sown to the delight of the Thalmor. Hammerfell continues to war with the Aldmeri Dominion for the next five years.
It went from great (when Mede retook his city from the Thalmor) to bad (when Hammerfell want no part of the Empire) and worst (Nords fighting for independence from the Empire in Skyrim). The White-Gold Concordat clearly favors the Aldmeri Dominion, and restricts freedom to man of the Empire by taking away their right to worship Talos. This is one step to control man before they have total control over them.

I wasn't aware that anyone suggested that they did. However, since it wasn't directed at me, I'll leave it alone. Carry on then.

It is one of the major reasons, people defend Stormcloaks, that the Empire surrendered to "Their thalmor masters"

"The terms were harsh, but Titus II believed that it was necessary to secure peace and give the Empire a chance to regain its strength. The two most controversial terms of the Concordat were the banning of the worship of Talos and the cession of a large section of southern Hammerfell (most of what was already occupied by Aldmeri forces)."

Methinks the gentleman doth protest too much.

Look, dude. Brotherly love. It's a thang. The Greeks even have a word for it. φιλíα Philia, in the Roman alphabet. This is not necessarily sexual. It's not ἔρως, Eros (though some make the claim this is not always sexual either). So, no homo. It doesn't have to be said. When you say, no homo, it makes it seem that you're self-conscious, and then one wonders why you're self conscious when you haven't said anything that would suggest a sexual attraction to a man.

Now, if you were to say something like, "He's got a nice big penis, no homo," then, yeah. If it matters to you, then you may want to make it clear.

But when talking about the love of a man for his king, his leader, his best friend, his brother in arms, it's just not necessary -- at least not in my generation. If the younger folk feel the need to qualify all this stuff, I feel bad for you guys. Real bad.

Okay, legitimate question here. Sovenguard exists, the faithful go there. That means everything the Dominion does is utterly meaningless. At the end of the day, Talos worshippers are chilling with all the Nord Heroes in a mead hall. So, keeping in mind that the final destination of Dominion prisoners is heaven, why are the Stormcloacks in such a hurry? Just put up with it until your standing military rebuilds. Every time they hear about a Thalmor arrest, just go 'another one for Sovenguard!'.
