First off, Roggvier commited treason, which up until a few decades ago, meant you got killed.

Second, the Empire captured the Stormcloaks, and figured you were with them (it's better to not take a chance, considering you were near Ulfric.)

The Empire doesn't allow the Thalmor to kidnap and torture/kill people, they do that already. Once the Empire is on it's feet, I guarantee the Thalmor/Aldmeri Dominion would be the next on it's list.

The laws are the same in all of Tamriel, High Treason is death. Though the Nords don't want trials, they don't like trials, sitting around in a court talking for ages isn't their thing. Violence is a part of Nordic culture, it's accepted and common place. Their politics also reflect this, on how you send a man your axe instead of talking.

Tamriel law has it's founding since the First Era I believe, Imperial law is what keeps the provinces in check. Otherwise they would rather kill each other than work together. Skyrim prefers to invade High Rock and Hammerfell than work with them or aid them. Once the Jarls of Skyrim kill themselves it brings back the bad old days, the Nords agreed with the Pact of Chieftains, the war of succession left a pretty bad stain on Skyrim's history when the Jarls went into Civil war on who was to become the next High King. They never recovered. Bringing back a tradition which allows you to challenge a Jarl for their title is what brought on Clan wars. With that in place when the Stormcloaks take over, you'll see many Holds change hands, since it is okay for Ulfric it will be okay for any Nord to exercise their right to challenge. The Bandits are going to love that, why be an outlaw when you can kill a weak Jarl and become Jarl.

There hasnt been a true high king for generations. Ulfric used a right he had, why didnt the others stop him then? He went in a city allone. Why didnt everyone attack him? Because it isnt illegal to challenge a man.

People always say how important the Dragonborn is to the Nords, they would kill the Dragonblood with no problem. Didn't stop them when they rebelled against a Septim Empress, dragonblood was in her veins. She later died in captivity when she was taken hostage. Skyrim does get away with many things, they have had too much freedom in the Empire. They are the most troublesome province in all of Tamriel, they are stubborn and violence is all they understand. So I don't understand why people complain the Legion were executing them without trial, when that is the way it is wanted in Skyrim. Without show of violence the Nords won't respect it, they will go against it.

You seem to forget that even though Nords are "blodthirsty" and dont want trials I am yet to see a dark elf executed or an imperial soldier.
