Forbidden Legend is actually impossible if you don't know about the amulet

Just got stuck on this quest for like two hours and realized I was doing it completely backwards. You're supposed to find the amulet pieces in a specific order or the last dungeon won't trigger properly, and the game does NOT tell you this anywhere.

I went Saarthal first (fine), then Glenmoril Crypt second (also fine), but then I tried to do Bloodskal Barrow last and the final door just... wouldn't open. No prompt, nothing. I thought the quest was bugged so I loaded back and swapped the order around. Turns out you need to do Bloodskal Barrow before Glenmoril Crypt or the trigger breaks.

Is this actually how it's supposed to work or is this a known bug? I'm on Anniversary Edition Switch so maybe it's platform-specific? Either way it's a terrible design if the quest silently fails based on dungeon order. At least Blood on the Ice tells you where to go.

I'm pretty sure this is actually a misconception - the quest shouldn't care about order, and I've done Glenmoril Crypt last plenty of times without issues. That said, Forbidden Legend is definitely janky in other ways that could cause what you're describing.

The most common culprit is if you pick up the amulet pieces but don't actually have them in your inventory when you try to open the final door. Sometimes they don't register properly, especially if you're carrying a ton of stuff or if there's a mod conflict. On Switch you obviously can't mod, but Anniversary Edition did add some new content that can cause weird interactions with older quests.

Did you actually check your inventory to make sure all three pieces were there? Also - and I hate to ask - but did you try just reloading an older save and doing the dungeon again? Sometimes Skyrim's quest flags get stuck in a weird state and a fresh approach fixes it. The order thing might've just been coincidence with the reload resetting something.
