I'm on my second playthrough and I just finished Trinity Restored, and man, I totally slept on this faction the first time around. Like, I got the Skeleton Key, did the radiant jobs, and bailed. But this time I actually paid attention to what's happening with the guild falling apart and Mercer being a complete bastard, and it actually lands.
The thing that got me is how the questline is basically about rebuilding something broken, which sounds generic until you realize the guild itself is the problem. Mercer embezzled from them, the members are scattered, and you're not just doing heists - you're putting the pieces back together. That's way more interesting than I gave it credit for.
Also ngl the Thieves Guild questline is way shorter than I remember and I'm not mad about it. Gets in, tells its story, gets out. No bloat. Compared to some of the other faction stuff this one respects your time.
Does anyone else think Delvin and Vex get way more personality once you actually talk to them between jobs? Or am I just noticing things I missed before.
