18+ Victory's Price

Wren glanced at the robed khajiit as he commented on Wren's words. He hadn't thought he would be overheard, with the noise of the inn's common room all around them. He quietly chastised himself for underestimating the hearing of a khajiit, and tilted his head towards him.

The nord he had joined spoke as well, agreeing that helping even a few of the common folk was a goal worth pursuing. It seemed that Wren had finally found at least a couple of folk who shared his values. He only hoped that his morals would not get everyone killed.

He smiled when the nord suggested he might be willing to surrender some of the reward. "I like to think myself a generous soul," he said," however, I'm not so generous as to pass up on some small recompense."

Kjol finished his second tankard of ale and extended his hand to the redguard woman. "Kjol Ironhand," he introduced himself, "formerly of Ulfric's stormcloaks. Now..." he hesitated. Ex-soldier was a bit too simple. But he liked to think of himself as more than a blade for hire. Which was really just his pride talking. "Soldier of fortune, I guess you'd say." He looked at the others around the table, "and I'm betting I'm not the only one, eh?"

Thalia shook the nord's offered hand, surprised he would deign to do such a thing. most of the nords in Skyrim, specially with Ulfric's grand victory, saw everyone who wasn't as blindly dedicated to their cause as s worthy only of contempt. But the man had mentioned he was formerly a member of Ulfric's army.

"Thalia Frostthorn." She supplied her name readily enough, "formerly of nobody's army. But you're right about the soldier of fortune bit." She glanced around, though she was pretty sure no one was watching or listening to the group. "But that pardon sounds pretty good as well."

"Ah, they say seeking glory is a surefire way to an early grave." He finished his drink, "and though I'm no common criminal, it seems in Ulfric's new kingdom, anything is a crime." He smirked, "so a pardon for a little work is hardly something for me to turn my nose up at." The elf shrugged, "plus whatever reward his kingships deigns to bestow upon us is...appreciated."
